Poor routing capability April 26, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
I does not do a very good job of routing compared to other units I have. The user interface is awkward in certain areas. Search function for spelling a search term consistently "hangs up" my unit. It reminds me of Windows!
Garmin nuvi 260 April 25, 2008 The nuvi 260 has everything I need to be able to wander around without fear of getting lost. Only drawback - and I've noted this on other models; even the more expensive ones - the voice sometimes mispronounces or mis-states names of streets. However, it's always close enough!!
Garmin Nuvi 260 April 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have two of these units and absolutely love them. I also had a Nuvi 660. The 260 does everything the 660 does except bluetooth and MP3 and a slightly smaller screen. The screen size is more than ample. After getting my 660 stolen, I replaced it with the 260 and have since bought one for my college bound daughter. The price is so affordable and getting cheaper every month. I would recommend this unit to everyone.
What I like about the 260 is that verbally tells you WHAT STREET to turn on. Example " in 500 feet turn right on MAPLE STREET". Some of the less expensive Nuvi's just say "turn right in 500 feet" For a few extra dollars, this feature is well worth it.
It is VERY easy to use and unbelieveably reliable. I can go anywhere and with a touch of a button, get back to my hotel, airport or go home. My daughter can go off to college, and I have peace of mind, she can get back to her dorm or just get home from anywhere.
Very happy with our first GPS April 22, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We've had the Garmin 260 for about 5 months now, and we're really happy with it. We chose it because it was the least expensive nuvi with Text-To-Speech. TTS is an awesome feature because it allows you to keep your attention focused on the road, not on the screen. Once you have it, you'll never want to buy a GPS without it. The screen itself is bright and easy to read, the voice prompts are very clear, and the map data has been very accurate in our area, with only a couple of small exceptions.
Great product! April 22, 2008 I love this GPS navigator...it's easy to use...loads in the satellites quickly...is easy to see and even gives the street names when voicing your upcoming turns. This is a great product!
