| Customer Reviews:
I bought the 260 because of all the great reviews - happy so far! April 5, 2008 Like most people at this site, I researched alot before buying a GPS. I just took mine out for a ride and was amazed how easy and accurate this thing is! I paid $220 total for it(free shipping), and the prices are still coming down. I also was surprized to find that my mp3 AC adapter fits the nuvi260 exactly, so I don't need to go out and buy one. I also found a very nice padded camera case with a velcro closer at Walmart for a whole $1.99 that fits the nuvi260 perfectly. Next like most reviewers, I will look into getting a different dash mount for this unit.
Great Little Product April 5, 2008 I bought this Garmin model because it had a good review in Consumer Reports. It definitely doesn't have the bells and whistles that the other models have, but it's really a great deal, and makes sure to announce the oncoming turns at about the perfect timing. Also, when the directions are a little unclear the screen really helps to detail the correct path.
A great little device.
gps review April 5, 2008 GARMIN 260 GPS is a great product and very simple and easy to operate. It is pocket size and great as a set up in our R.V. and cars.I used it on 1200 mile trip and only got one incorrect direction.I bought two more for my sons.
Truly the next best thing to factory installed! April 5, 2008 I bought the Garmin nuvi 260 for my wife after she had seen how my factory installed GPS operated in my Infinity Q45... She actually likes it better than my built-in GPS. To be truthful, so do I, with the exception of screen size not being as large as mine in the Q45. This Garmin is fantastic in most every respect and is especially user friendly, with exacting prompts and few steps to each navigation feature. It is a suction cup mount and I mounted it through the steering wheel, on the vehicle display screen... Deliberately done to avoid being seen from outside (anti-theft) and it keeps your eyes looking directly across your dashboard and most other instrumentation. This mounting also allows you to neatly tuck away the power chord through dash crevices to your 12volt connection (chord hanging from windshield I think is obtrusive).
I am convinced, after three lengthy trips to unknown territory, the Garmin nuvi 260 has to be the best navigation value for the dollar. Unless you are looking for a larger screen, this has to be the "one".
Nice GPS with one problem April 5, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I real like my nuvi 260 but had to return it under warranty. The display developed horizontal lines after one week of use. I was afraid the display would fail.
