I just received this product from Amazon yesterday. I was a little leary to purchase this through Amazon due to the reviews/comments regarding updating the maps and such. I have bought numerous items from Amazon.com. I have never had any problems. And this time wasn't any different. The update for the maps was smooth, took forever, but no problems whatsoever. We haven't traveled on a trip yet but we used it to "navigate" to work today and we LOVE it! It has wonderful features. I researched which model met our needs and this is everything I expected it to be and needed it to be. So don't let the negative feedback about Amazon.com sway you from buying this from them. It is a great savings to get it from them and the Garmin website is easy to navigate and register and update the product.

I have been using the Garmin 760 for about one month now. When I first received the 760, I immediately updated the unit to the 2009 maps. This process was easy but time consuming as the unit took quite a while to download the maps. My first test was to several local destinations. At first I was not satisfied due to the unit directing me via a route that was valid but in no way would have been the route I would have chosen. In addition, it has my house approximately 150' from the correct location. At this point I even considered returning the 760 but decided to wait as the trip we purchased it for was approaching. The next test was in Colorado on our vacation. Here it passed the test and was quite helpful. All routes chosen were valid and when we searched for restaurants or gas in worked well. Once it directed us to the wrong side of the street but at that point it was easy to find our destination. I wish however, there was a way to quickly check the route it chose with an overview of the total route on one screen. Maybe there is and I don't know how to do it. In summary, it is a good unit but not perfect. Use it as a tool along with some common sense and you can get to just about anywhere you want to go.

I had owener several Garmins before (Steetpilot 550, 580 the nuvi 660). There is no atnenna for the 760 but it works like it does (the antenns is built in).Garmin nüvi 760 Portable GPS Automobile Navigator Just so you'll know, i had MSN Direct with my previous Garmin purchases and it work with my 760, so I highly recommend you get that service.

The nuvi works very well overall. There are times where it takes the longer way than it should, but there are many times where it gives a me a shortcut.
