4 out of 5 stars Good but not great   July 14, 2008

I love the GPS unit!

not as pleased with the retailer, I did not see anywhere in the description that the unit was a refurb, they said it was new but it is a bit deceptive to infer "new" when it is a refurb.

Everything else about the seller was great!

5 out of 5 stars This GPS makes me feel like riding a Batmobile.   July 13, 2008
The sophisticate, accurate, smart and delicate features that this GPS offers is great. If money is available, I highly recommend this GPS to those who have hard time finding places on their own.

5 out of 5 stars First opinion   July 13, 2008
The shipment arrived promptly. After charging the Garmin it aquired the satellites far more rapidly than my Garmin V. Also it easily maintained contact when I moved into the house. I like the QWERTY keyboard option. The documentation supplied was only the rapid start type. For more information I had to download the manual from the internet. The directions were good. I especially liked the suggestion of moving to the right or left of the highway to ease the next turn.

I'm still learning all the features on this but it was most helpful on a recent trip to Charleston, SC. I was very glad I'd bought it.

5 out of 5 stars A Really Nice GPS   July 12, 2008

I actually bought this as a gift, but I think I may keep this and give my Garmin 350 away instead. That is how much I like this. I actually see no difference between the Garmin 750 and the Garmin 350 except with the line of features that the 750 has to offer.
First off the problems as I see it which aren't many. The audible sounds with the 750 needs a big boost. Garmin must do something here with a patch. I can hear the sounds alright, but even with the sound turned up to 100% it just is not loud enough for my liking. Also, I think Garmin should have included a GPS holder and an AC adapter for charging. In my case I already have these items so this is not a big deal.
Once I downloaded the firmware which is essential to do, I must have gotten lucky or something since I have been able to acquire satellites within 1 minute so far.
So where does this differ from the Garmin 350. The Garmin 750 does not have the flip-up antenna on the back of the unit. The 750 of course is widescreen, has a brighter screen and you now have the abilty to navigate to multiple destinations. I also own the TOM TOM 920 and as much as I like the 920, I have discovered that the 920 screen washes out in direct sunlight. Well, with the Garmin 750 this is not the case and the 750 screen shows brightly in all sunlight and conditions. You also have the abilty to change the keyboard layout to a Qwerty.
There are a few more features like FM transmission which because of the sound issue mentioned above may be a wasted feature unless this issue of sound is corrected. Yes my Tom Tom has more features, but I am really liking the Garmin 750 so far.
