Be careful when you see the name Optics Planet in the description. Item listed as Trijicon TA31RCM150 Trijicon ACOG Rifle Combat Optic Rifle Scope 4X 32 Red Chevron Matte BAC-M150 List Price: $1,450.00 Price: $34.99 You Save: $1,415.01 (98%) I have seen deals on these scopes before (I also purchased them) and Optics Planet is not honoring the order, saying it is a case, not the scope and telling me that it is my problem and they will send me an "RMA" if I would like. Just be leary if you see a good deal from this company as it is probally not true. I personally don't feel that falsely advertising a sale is the customers problem. Other companies honor misadvertised prices on their products that were purchased prior to the correction. But you will not find that here.
Very pleased so far June 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received my Nuvi 750 about a month ago. The first thing I did was register the product online, and during the registration it declared the unit eligible for the 2009 map update and took me right to the upgrade site. Nice touch. As others have mentioned, make sure you have at least 5GB of space on your hard drive and several hours to do the upgrade. It's lengthy, but it completed without any problems (after I deleted about 3GB of accumulated cruft on my PC).
It has never taken more than 20 seconds to get satellite lock, and usually has a signal before the car starts moving. Screen visibility is excellent, and the touch screen sensitivity is adequate (sometimes I have to tap it twice to get its attention). As others have found, it doesn't always pick what I consider the optimum route, but it rarely chooses a bad route. If you expect to be on highways most of the trip, choose Quickest route. For around town, use Shortest. With the multi-destination routing feature, you can always enter an intermediate stop to force it to pick a desired route.
The sound is a bit weak if you have the radio on or windows down, and the FM transmitter just can't provide a clean enough signal. But I find most of the time the built-in speaker is sufficient.
I attach mine to the friction mount, which makes it easier to hide when leaving the car. The mount is surprisingly stable even when taking tight turns.
By the way, for those who complain about having to hit the Back icon multiple times, if you just press and hold the icon for a couple seconds it takes you back to the main menu.
Overall, I'm very happy with the Nuvi 750.
Best purchase I have ever made June 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You won't be sorry when you purchase this Garmin. Where ever you want to go it will get you there by the best route. I use it all of the time and don't know how I ever got around without it. I love the route feature, you can enter as many address as you want and it will map the best route for you to take. Wonderful product.
Nuvi 750 Review June 9, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
We purchased the Nuvi 750 for my wife. The unit is extremely simple to set up and does a fantastic job of providing very accurate directions to your destination.
The only "negative" I would mention is that you have to continually use the Back icon to get back to the home screen rather than being able to just go to the home position with the click of a button.
Other than that minor issue we would recommend this unit to anyone. It offers a good mix of price versus features for anyone's needs.
Very Good Product June 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In my opinion the Garmin nuvi 750 GPS Navigator is technically top of the line. It is very easy to use and has been very accurate in guiding me to my desired destinations. The price and delivery service was excellent.
The negatives were not of major significance but should be corrected by Garmin soon. I had a problem after the downloading of the 2009 upgrade of the USA City Map. The download manager used by Garmin to DL & install the S/W caused a slow down (lockup) of my Dell DXPS 1GB 2.8 Ghz whenever I tried to access the DL'd files (the nuvi worked ok though). I had to uninstall the Garmin files (1.5 GB) and the DL mnrg (2.5 GB!) to use my computer effectively. Also, Garmin did not indicate that a s/w package (MapSource / DVD) for interfacing the computer with the nuvi was available. An email to customer service provided that s/w though.
