3 out of 5 stars Garmin vs Magellan   July 11, 2008

Magellan works great but I miss one big feature garmin offer. Garmin offer adding address in my computer then downloading it into device. Magellan can only add address in device directly only. If that doesn't bother you then Magellan is good GPS.

5 out of 5 stars Just as advertised   July 10, 2008
This is my third GPS system of some type. I began with software loaded on a pda and then purchased a low cost text to speech model. This is by far the best unit I have used either of my own or a friends. The directions have been right on, it's easy to use and the battery life is great.

4 out of 5 stars Great Value   July 9, 2008
Easy to use. About 95% efficient in providing accurate, appropriate routes (occasional false or unnecessary turns); easy to use, for most part. Bluetooth phone function a bit complicated. Voice control too limited in utility. Overall, a quality instrument at a very good price.

5 out of 5 stars Magellan 4250 After The Update   July 9, 2008

I'll keep this short and sweet. This is the 2nd 4250 I own. I got them for under $250 each on Amazon. The units are slow and clunky just like everyone says (out of the box). But WAIT...once you update the firmware (current is 4.60), you'll be moving very fast and the unit even came with 1 year free to traffic update service. You can't beat that deal! I owned the Nuvi 360 before, and I returned it for the sole reason that it doesn't show POI icons on the screen while I drive. That was a deal breaker for me. When your in a new place trying to find a parking garage or a gas station these icons are life savors!

Hope this helps! Remember to update the firmware!

Magnificent. Don't know what I ever did without it. So easy to use, install, transport and even walk with. Customer support is easy to access and answers all your questions quickly. I would definitely purchase another and recommend to friends.
