4 out of 5 stars Nice unit for the price but it has no frills   February 19, 2008

I got it from Staples after discounts for $95 plus tax. Nice unit in size, appearance, and finish. Works relatively well and the software has many options. I like that it can display what road you are on, what road you need will need to move onto to, your speed, how far to the next required turn, and what time it is all at once.

It is obvious why the price of this unit is low compared to others. For one thing, it includes just a car charger, no product manual (you have to go to their website), and the map is only of the continous 48 states, not including Hawaii or Alaska.

Good:
Nice finish
Good price
Nice and clean maps
Compact
Easy to follow
Displays a lot of information on the screen at once
How about a carrying case like the Pharos
Good route planner
Does a decent job of warning you when a turn is coming up

Bad:
Short battery life
Adapter port on the bottom of the unit
Doesn't include a home charger
Doesn't include maps of Hawaii or Alaska (How more could that have cost??)
Mount is not very strong but it is easy to use
No clock except if you are actually nagivating a route

If it wasn't for the price, I wouldn't have bought it.

5 out of 5 stars The norm, not an exception   February 15, 2008

The Navagon 2100 came in perfect working condition. I received this product in three days as promised. Since Internet shopping has become an everyday event, this should be the norm not an exception.

This is my first GPS unit that I have purchased. It doesn't have an MP3 player, a camera, etc. All it does is get me to the address that I type in and does it well for the $150 price tag. I really like the 3D view at interchanges or when a highway splits. It shows the "big green highway signs" on the screen with an arrow. It recently got me around Boston, MA with no troubles. If a GPS can do that with the "BIG DIG" mess, I would highly recommend this unit to anyone.
