need a tutorial February 9, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I`m sure this product is a great driving tool, but it does not provide any tutorial information at all. You have to figure out all the details on your own. A cd, or instruction book would be nice. It may take a long time to master how to work it.
TOM TOM GPS ITEM February 8, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The TomTom works well, with these issues: 1. Managing previous locations is very difficult -- especially in trying to remove unneeded ones.
2. There is an intersection with a major freeway that tells you to left turn over an embankment!!
3. When I entered my own address it took me 6 houses away from the actual location
Easy to Use February 8, 2008 I have found the TOM-TOM very easy to use, and very helpful. I'm a traveling therapist and every 3 months travel to a new location to work. With the use of the TOM-TOM I never get lost, and don't have any trouble getting from location to location or finding places to shop and eat once I get to the new location.
This is my first GPS unit.... February 8, 2008 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is my first GPS unit, and I am very happy with it. It does everything it is supposed to, and it is very user friendly.
The widescreen is a big plus, the voice command telling you which street to turn on is also very nice. The best part is the portability of it. It's small enough to take just about anywhere. It is probably accurate to about 50ft.
The only con I can give it is the battery life is a little low. However, with the 12v car power supply there really isn't much of an issue. Only if you don't have your power supply with you.
Tom Tom XL-S February 8, 2008 I have had the Tom Tom on 3 business trips, with only 1 negative problem. In one city, it took me around a circuitous rout to a destination, when I could have gotten there faster by turning 2 miles sooner. Then it turned me right instead of left, and showed the final destination as an open field. This was the only problem on 3 trips. I was in some big cities with very busy freeways and multiple exits, and it was right on the nose, where I needed to be. When I made a wrong turn or took a wrong exit, it immediately recaluclated a new route and corrected my direction. I especially like the way it gives verbal and visual cues ahead of time so that I could anticipate lane changes in order to exit or enter highway ramps. I think it's a good investment.
