4 out of 5 stars nice wireless earphones   November 16, 2008
A bit hissy at times, when your heads not facing exactly right(for the headphones). But even with the hiss, the sound is amazing, true bass and clean highs. My sleeping partner says "thanks" for her quiet.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutely amazing!   November 15, 2008
An excellent purchase! I travel quite a bit for business, but have never been able to rest well because of the loud engine noises. While these don't completely cancel out engine noise, they get VERY close, and make travel much more relaxing and pleasant.
After listening to them for a few hours in flight, I was SHOCKED when I took them off and realized how loud the plane was without them. And for the first time in many flights, I actually got a great, peaceful nap! Completely recommended and worth the price.

1 out of 5 stars Heartbreaking   November 15, 2008

These headphones are absolutely heartbreaking. Why? Because they sound amazing, but I'm going to have to return them due to the insane sound leakage.

I'll say it again: they sound amazing. Clear sound, great bass. With no music, the noise canceling works great. With music, it still works great, but it does two things to your music: it drops the bass almost completely out and significantly cranks up the volume. If you're listening to music at a good volume with the noise canceling off, then switching NC on will result in a painful jolt of harsh treble to your ears.

But I could live with that, only because they sound so great with the NC off. What I cannot live with, though, is the ridiculous sound leakage that comes out of them. With the noise canceling off, and the music playing at a reasonable volume, and the cups pressed tightly together, you can easily identify the song playing. Easily. But what's worse, is that when you switch the NC on, the sound leakage increases (and not just proportionately with the volume increase that I mentioned earlier). Nay, with NC on, and the music adjusted to the same reasonable volume, and the cans securely wrapped around your ears, someone sitting next to you will be able to understand every word of a song they've never even heard before. It is truly that loud.

And for me, that's a deal-breaker. An awful, terrible, heartbreaking deal-breaker.

3 out of 5 stars Decent Noise Cancellation--Uncomfortable On The Head   November 13, 2008
The noise cancellation of this product works fairly well. It helped me get through a several-week pile driving operation near my office. My only complaint in the audio department is when switching on noise cancellation, the audio output gets nearly twice as loud, even in a perfectly quiet environment.

The phones are fairly heavy and clampy on my head compared to other more expensive models I've tried.

4 out of 5 stars Very good headphones, unbeatable for the price   November 13, 2008
Recently bought these after returning Sony NC60's due to vibration in one ear. So far, am very pleased with the purchase. I've tried both the Bose Q2 and Q3 models and find the AT to have competitve sound quality, noise cancellation, and a superior structrual rigidity. The only aspect where the Bose clearly wins is comfort. This is not to say that the AT's are uncomfortable, but they do apply more pressure to the ear than the Bose's do. However, for $200 less, I can certainly live with having to take them off slightly more often. I would definitely recommend these.
