When Cox Cable installed cable in my home they had the main cable feed a 4 way splitter that all went to different rooms in my house. That was fine. When I called them back to add another connection (the cable was already run) they were apparently too lazy or too cheap to put in a 5-way splitter outside so they just tapped into an existing connection and installed a 2 way splitter in the attic. While I always had an OK picture on the 2 sets that were affected by this installation they were always a little fuzzy (especially on the lower channels) and would sometimes ghost for a few minutes. I bought the Monster splitter because it was a lot easier to try and change out the splitter that Cox installed than to replace the splitter outside. OK, it wasn't easier, but it was cheaper. I'm happy to say that it worked great. I compared the picture on those 2 sets to one that's fed directly from the box outside and there isn't any difference in the picture. This thing works. [...].
Good Assurance September 2, 2007 You need a quality splitter to maintain signal integrity. I got this beause I bought a wireless cable modem and wanted to make sure I didn't sacrifice signal quality all around. You may find another company with the same specs as this (not buying for the brand name), but just make sure you see the signal quality numbers in GHZ. Sometimes a few dollars more is what makes the difference. I'm not a Monster Cable enthusiast, but this has worked well, so I have to give credit where due.
Works where cheap splitters don't July 30, 2007 I've always had problems with pixelation on a few channels on my digital cable when I split it for Tivo using Tivo's supplied splitter. Line amps didn't help. This product did the trick, and for solving this little headache I would have paid more. Try this out if you are having similar problems with signal degradation due to splitting your cable.
Monster or not it worked May 22, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this along with a monster cable... now I know monster is way over priced but I think this splitter is worth it.
I wanted to hook up my cable modem and my cable TV with no loss to my cable modem and it did what it said it would.
I wont give it 5 stars because I know it's [...].
great little gadget May 14, 2007 This was perfect! high quality and no signal loss at all. I was completely amazed, because I needed this to split so I could tivo programs on my computer and watch tv on another tv. Great quality on programs and on the tv. Excellent product!
