4 out of 5 stars Worked perfectly where more expensive KVMs didn't   April 14, 2008
I recently got a new machine with a PCI-E slot and NVIDIA card. My old KVM wasn't able to recognize it.

I tried four switches before keeping this one. One was less expensive, one about the same, and the other two were about $20.00 more. All of them had trouble with my mouse, an older MS Optical mouse that uses a USB to PS/2 adapter. I'd never run into that problem before, but judging from reviews of various switches, it seems to be common.

This switch, aside from taking up less room, works perfectly for me.
They keyboard combo to switch between machines has, so far, worked without a hitch. (I do like to have a button on the switch itself, in case, for some reason, it loses keyboard connectivity, which has happened to me with other switches. The lack of such a button is the only reason I'm giving this 4 stars rather than 5.)

It works perfectly with two FreeBSD machines, whether I'm running the O/S or trying out various live CDs.

On a crowded desk, the small size is a definite plus. I'm glad I tried this before giving up and buying a really high end switch.

Built very well and works perfectly right out of the box. I utilize two Windows PCs with 98 & 2000 for the OS. I would definitely recommend this product. - Rusty Bones

1 out of 5 stars poor video quality, low quality product   March 18, 2008

I ordered this product from Tigerdirect. The quality of the video was poor. I contacted Tigerdirect, but their returns policy was so much effort that I just threw the switch in the trash rather than deal with the aggravation of returning it to Tigerdirect.

5 out of 5 stars IOGEAR GCS62 MiniView Micro KVM Switch   February 24, 2008
I recommend the IOGEAR GCS62 MiniView Micro KVM Switch. I bought it to switch between two Pentium Core 2 Duo systems, and I haven't had any problems. The setup is straight forward and I love it.
