Cheaper than rewiring your house! June 11, 2008 We didn't have an available jack in the bedroom, but this little thing got our Mac desktop on the network with hardly any problems.
We have a combined PC/Mac household, and this didn't seem to create any issues.
Not as easy as it sounds.... May 3, 2008
I'm giving this wireless adaptor one star to also warn the buyers that not everyone is going to be able to just plug it in and have it work, especially the Mac users with earlier machines like my G4. Additionally the support from Add logix is only online and slow in response. Because I can't stay at my computer indefinitely due to family life and having to go to work, it took me days to install their wireless adaptor. Like a previous reviewer, I ended up having to use a patch they emailed me, after struggling with the device for two weeks. Also the support team is not that sensitive to the average user who doesn't use computer terms or work with software installation on a frequent basis. They will use "encryption "code in one message, then "password" in the next, which can be confusing to the layman. Eventually the device worked properly; but for me it was after a long and frustrating ordeal; and I'm not a complete novice.
Worked just a few minutes after un-boxing! March 4, 2008 I had no problems getting this adapter to work. 1. Install drivers 2. Restart machine 3. Plug in USB adapter 4. Open and set network preferences
That was it!
Very recommended!
Great no problems for Mac ibook G4 March 3, 2008 Had to travel abroad and silly me when I bought my ibook (G4, 933MHz model)in 2003, I didn't get the airport card. So now I needed something that would work fast with my older system and requires no tedious process. I found this, and originally was turned off by some bad reviews but thought I would give it a shot. I got it and installed the driver and software (which admittedly is not the cutest software to look at, but it does the job if you use common sense). I immediately picked up at least three connections and now in Asia I pick up I think at least 10 or so I can choose from. No problems so far, works well, simply and slightly faster speeds of internet than I am used to with DSL. I give 4 stars cause I am not fully in love with the software.
awesome airport for mac pro! February 21, 2008 We had a hard time finding a compatible airport for the basic mac pro ( apple) bought from best buy. If you're looking for an airport that's simple to use this is one for you. Installation of an airport directly from apple was $100.00 dollars and you can't install an airport on your own with apple you must bring it in to the store for installation!
