5 out of 5 stars Why would anyone with a PC not want this scanner?   August 18, 2008

Everyone has a printer to convert digital information to paper but I'm constantly surprised how many people don't have a scanner to convert paper to digital information. This is a very inexpensive way to be able to do that. I like that the device gets its power from the USB connnection. It does a good job scanning. The software was pretty easy to learn well enough to do some basic scanning, cropping, etc.

The software was a pain, and now it's dead after just 4 times i used it. HP scanner is next for me, Canon made a hunk of trash.

5 out of 5 stars Works great!   August 3, 2008

I needed a basic scanner for the sole purpose of making copies. I have a printer that does a fine job so I really did not want to replace it with an all-in-one kind of product. This scanner is exactly what I wanted. I use it once or twice a month and it works fine. The price is great!

5 out of 5 stars Value, functionality, no bells & whistles.   July 28, 2008

This is a great scanner in terms of image quality, cost, and size/portability. The best part, though, is ease of use. It will do anything I need it to do, and nothing else, and it does it intuitively, easily, and efficiently. There must be better scanners out there, with more awesome features, but, frankly, I'd rather have a scanner with all the features I want and NOTHING ELSE to clutter up the interface. For scanning text documents & home photos, this unit can't be beat.

Oh, yeah, and *perfectly* Mac-compatible.

4 out of 5 stars really noisy   July 24, 2008

This thing makes a loud grinding noise while running that is unsettling. It makes me wonder how long it's going to last. But on the plus side it's very light weight, about the size of a large pad of paper, so you don't really need to devote a shelf or desktop space for it, you could even carry it somewhere if you wanted (except for the noise). I like it so far.
