4 out of 5 stars I like the duplex and its low price however I dislike the lack of networking   February 22, 2007

I got the 4150 from a local store for $199 + tax. I got the scanner,
printer, fax to work /w WinXP machine connect via USB 2.0. However, only
the printer worked with my dlink 1260 wireless printserver. I eventually
returned it after 10 days. I'll wait for model MF4690 to be available
in April 2007, it has all features of 4150 plus networking

I ordered this multifunction machine from Amazon after returning a Canon MF5770 that was unsatisfactory (to St*ples)For under two hundred wou get a lot of features in a solidly built machine. Copy works fine. The scanner function is very nice; I was able to scan a document with the sheet feeder and an image immediately popped up on my computer. The bundled scan software actually works; a first for me with multifunction machines. Printing was uneventful as it should be. Large paper capacity. Large toner capacity as expected with lasers. Highly recommended.

I have used several all-in-ones before, both inject and laser. from brother to HP, this is the best by far. summarize the pro's and con's:
Pro's
1. duplex printing is a great paper saving tool
2. complete silent at standby with fast start up
3. small foot print and compact
4. paper handling is smooth, rarely any paper jam, quite unusual for a cheap all in one under $200
Con's
1. initial menu setting is quick complicated, but just have to do it once, follow the menu
2. cartridge is about $10 more than the compareable HP or Brother ones, considering it doesn't need to replace drum unit, overall cost is about the same
3. no network built in, u got what u pay for.

I bought this machine for home office just two weeks back. Unpacking, installation was breeze. It is quiet and fast. Love this machine!

Built in fax, scanner, copier, duplex, small form factor, looks great, prints fast and well built. I hooked this up for a relative, so I don't use it myself. Installed on Win 98 machine V1. Install did not successfully load the drivers, but I was able to manually install them. Comes with a starter toner catridge which Canon says lasts a 1000 pages. New toner is expensive and only last 2,000 pages. Does not have a lot of memory compared to the competion, but you can't touch anything like this for $190. Seems like a bargain to me.
