3 out of 5 stars Works Fine, but have some issues   September 10, 2008

Don't Like: You will not find any print server which will work with it. Upto now I was able to find only one print server which is only sold by canaon for about $100. Go for next model MP620 which is cheaper but have wireless printing option available. Another bad thing is after 20 days of buying this printer I start getting 6A00 error and Printer was not starting, and this was not because I reinstalled the cartridge or any tray. It was because I pressed the navigation button button when printer was booting. Canon was fast in replacement and gave me refurbished printer. :(

Things I Like: Print quality is very nice and fast, Scanning resolution is very good too. Copy function works even without turning on the printer. It has a paper tray at bottom which is all covered. Its LCD is easy to read and buttons are user friendly.

Two stars are deducted because the problem I had and unavailability of print server.

Tips: Do not buy any print server without checking its printer compatibility list. Also Don't press the navigation button unnecessarily.

I haven't had a chance to use all of the features on this printer but so far I find it very easy to use.

5 out of 5 stars printer probably OK, but Amazon is great   September 9, 2008

i can't say much about the printer because i have yet to use it. i was surprised, like many others, to find that it didn't come with a usb cable. so i ordered the bluetooth device. i'm sure it will work ok, once i get the computer and the printer to talk to each other.

but i want to sing the praises of amazon. i bought the printer when it had a 50 buck rebate. after reading about other buyers' experiences with canon rebates, i was took care filling out the form, sending along the receipt and the correct bar code.

then i waited for my money.

canon denied my rebate request.

i wanted to fill out the form again but couldn't find it online. i emailed amazon with my problem, and they credited me $50.

now that is customer service. and that will keep me coming back to amazon.

5 out of 5 stars Great All-In-One for the price!   September 8, 2008
This thing prints very nice photos, and is fairly quiet too. It prints very fast, and the printing/scanning options are endless. You won't be disappointed with this purchase!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Printer   September 7, 2008

I am replacing an Epson printer/scanner, and the Canon MP610 beats it hands down. My primary reason for getting rid of the Epson was the cost of the ink - I was spending WAYYYY too much money on ink cartridges that only lasted a short while. The MP610 has better print quality and is much more thrifty because of lower ink costs. Scanning quality is excellent, but I had no complaints about this on the Epson. The best feature of the MP610 is two sided printing - saves paper.

My only complaint is that they went way overboard on the software - five separate programs, and each one put an icon on the desktop (which were promptly deleted). This is very user un-friendly in my opinion, there is no reason for a printer to clutter up your system like this.
