Made In China November 17, 2008 This is a true waste of money. There are three small fans that run off the power from your laptop and the air circulation is barely felt. The body is simply two pieces of cheap plastic stuck together. If you sat on it, it would crack in two. It is flat and does not have any lever device to place your laptop at an angle. It is just a terrible disappointment. There are better devices out there - shop around.
Rick's DataStar Review October 28, 2008 I ordered two of them and both are performing as stated by company. Looks a little flimsy in construction..but works great. Very quiet. Had to check to see if was still working. It has helped my laptop stay cool as I usually keep it on for at least 8hrs. They say heat will kill a laptop quickly. Good investiment so far. I liked the free shipping they offered.
A good deal October 21, 2008 I bought one of these in April 2008. It lasted until October. Technically it still works, but the fans have become very loud and I'm not sure it's actually working very well. So, I decided to order two more (one for my home laptop, one for my work laptop). People may think it's weird that I'm giving something 4 stars that I had to replace after 6 months, but it worked really well while it lasted and it's really not that expensive to replace. I love how it sucks out the heat from my laptops. I notice that when I have my laptops on but the Cooling Pads off, my bedroom is significantly warmer than when have the Cooling Pads on. Also, it's wonderful to have it on when you're putting your laptop on your lap. It definitely keeps your legs cool. Now that I have the new ones, I realize how silent they are. So, I guess if it starts getting loud you know it's time for a replacement. By the way, I'm not sure if it's evident from the description, but you basically just plug it into one of your USB ports.
Didn't last a year October 13, 2008 I had this for only a few months before it stopped working. I contacted the manufacturer, and they sent me a replacement. The replacement only lasted a few months also.
I can't recommend this product. Although the manufacturer was responsive the first time I contacted them, it wasn't worth my time to keep contacting them after having the same experience with 2 of these.
A Cool Way to Keep Your LapTop Cool October 6, 2008 I am so glad I purchased this Cooling Pad! I was constantly listening to my laptop fan run harder and harder - even though I have it positioned on a wide board so the internal fan stays clear and gets the air it needs. The second I set this pad up and plugged in the USB cord, I was amazed at how fast the noise was reduced and the temperature on the keyboard went down. I sincerely think this cooling pad will lengthen the life of my hard drive because the laptop runs much faster and easier now. The pad is just a little smaller than my laptop but they fit together very well and the laptop sits securely on top of the Cooling Pad. I use the Cooling Pad every day and will continue to do so.
