Not a good choice, has a poor heatsink included October 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
On a previous computer build I bought the core 2 duo E4400 boxed processor, and was quite happy with it. This purchase was different, Intel now includes a heatsink that is between 1/3 and 1/2 the size of what they used to ship! Because of the tiny heatsink the processor runs hot, greater than 60 degrees C, with any load on the computer. The CPU fan runs at full speed all the time. In order to use this CPU, I will have to purchase an aftermarket heatsink.
Great value and simple install March 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The hardest part about buying this product was making sure my motherboard supported it. Once the package arrived I was up and running on the new processor in about 30 mins. Would have been even quicker except the heatsink assembly for the old processor required me to remove the whole motherboard and unscrew it from the board.
Great value that really made big improvements in Vista Ultimate on my box.
