Money Plus Premium
Only reason I had to upgrade to Microsoft Money Plus Premium, is because Microsoft wants all its users to upgrade money every two years so that they can automatically download bank transactions into Money.
If you are MS Money 2005 user, you will find this product absolutely useless with no additional features and in some case very slow. Microsoft is shamelessly asking $70 from us so that we can use this auto download feature for next two years.
When I upgraded, My home page suddenly became very slow and took 10 min to load, I had to remove some of the portlets to make it work. So here I am paying $70 and compromising some capabilities. They have not even made any UI changes. I think Microsoft have run out of ideas of enhancing this further.
Only think MS has done in this is that they have taken out year reference from the title of the product. All its previous products were called Money 2001, Money 2003, Money 2005 etc. Is this surrender sign from MS, that there will not be any two year product revolution any more. ?
On the other hand, do I have alternative to MS Money ? Not at this time. I have seven years worth of transactions and not ready to switch to Quicken yet, unless I was forced to the wall by repetitive disappointments from Microsoft.
BACKUP BEFORE YOU UPGRADE November 15, 2007

Make sure to backup your money files before you upgrade. This version of Money will "upgrade" your money files into some unuseable format for earlier versions. After uninstalling and trying to go back to Money 2007, I could not open ANY of my money files which had been converted! Make sure you do plenty of backups before you upgrade to this piece of trash, because you will want to go back.

This has got to be, by far, the worst upgrade product I have ever seen. There is only one reason, I mean one reason only for this upgrade: because Microsoft forced me into it by disabling the automatic account transaction updates.
Microsoft did not even bother to change the layout, the fonts or even colors!
As far as the features themselves, I've been happy for many years with MS-Money. It's easy to use and has done a great job with my finances and the many accounts I have (401k, savings, checking, money market, mutual funds); no complaints.
But, this so-called upgrade is a joke. It's no upgrade at all.

After I have installed Money Plus on Windows Vista, I would have to reinstall it twice the past two months. The first time was some components failed to work that I could not find any answers from Microsoft or Google search; the second time leaves the account update hanging for minutes. This does not happen with earlier version of Money.
While there could be some compelling features of the software, yet its basic functions are crippled and unstable, leaving me frustrated with this one star rating.

I have been using MS Money since 1994. I usually upgrade every 3 years to get the new features. I was forced to upgraded to Money Plus (2008) since the newer versions of Money only allow 2 years of online access.
I am a power user of Money, tracking 31 accounts with nearly all of them automatically updated via the online update feature. I use Money 3 times a week.
The upgrade looks exactly the same as Money 2006. Even after looking at the 'New' features that have been added in Money Plus, I find the changes to be very, very weak.
The one change I have noticed is the time to open my Money file has increased from <1 min in Money 2006 to over 4 minutes with Money Plus (2008). I am not sure why there is an issue with the new version. I have archived my data from 1994 to 2003 and have ran the repair utility, neither of which helped the performance.
If I was not required to upgrade because of the two year subscription limit, I would not see any need to upgrade to Money Plus. Let's hope MS puts out a more compelling product in future releases.
