OK I guess October 5, 2008 I bought this video card to increase my gaming expectations. At first, it was perfect since I could run everything on high quality. Now, however, this card is obsolete, and if u are looking for a good, yet cheap, gaming video card, DO NOT buy this one.
This graphics card with 256 MB needs a cooling fan September 12, 2008 This card does a nice job displaying the graphics but does have a tendency to overheat
Top Notch Card at Basement Price September 6, 2008 Purchased this card to replace a older 64MB. Card is a major improvement over older card. Much better graphics, better resolution and more stable picture. I highly recommend this card for anyone who is looking for a Big Visual Improvement at Low Basement Price. Cant Beat Amazon on Shipping and Price.
Burned out September 4, 2008 The card burned out in less than two months in a large, well ventilated, aluminum case. I don't do gaming so it was hardly stressed.
Great Deal For Money August 23, 2008 I'm a casual gamer. I bought this card to replace my old ASUS GeForce2 MX/MX 400 AGP card. I play alot of Day Of Defeat: Source and with the recent Steam updates, they took advantage of the new shader system. My old card couldn't handle it. This card handles it perfectly. I used to play at the resolution of 800x600 now I'm able to play at 1024x768 with no GPU based problems. Some of you that have older system may also have an 'out-dated' CPU. I'm using an older AMD Sempron 3000+ 2GHz. I only see some bottle-necking, but that is CPU based problems.
Although a great card, it does tend to get hot after vigorous usage. So I would recommend you to make an investment into cooling. A simple case fan blowing over the motherboard would most likely help. Also I use a program called SpeedFan to track the GPU and CORE temperatures of my video card. This card comes with a Double Life Time warranty. Meaning, if you card takes a dump do to defects of the manufacturing, they WILL replace it. It is stated on the website that this warranty does NOT cover damages caused by overclocking. If you sell this card to a friend or whoever they can also take advantage of the lifetime warranty. All they have to do is register the unique ID on the XFX registration webpage.
Another thing I liked about this card is, being AGP and with todays technology leaning more towards 8x AGP support, this card does give you the versatility of 4x/8x. So if you have an older motherboard. This card is supported on older motherboards equipt with 4x AGP slots. Although rated for use with a 300w PSU minimum, some people claim that they are able to run this card on a 250w PSU. Be informed that running a card on a 250w PSU that is rated for 300w may work, but you do have a chance of card failure and/or having a shorter life span.
All-In-All: Great card well worth it for the money! One Con: Runs hot. Invest in cooling fans!
