great performance on a budget April 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The geforce 6200 256mb GDDR2 Agp 4x/8x card is a bargain. Most cards have less memory for the same price. Also, it does work as a dual head video card. You can use the VGA port for one monitor and use the DVI port for another (you may need a dvi to vga apdater if not using a flat panel). I ran 2 21" monitors with no problems. It supports spanning or can be used independently. Sweet!! Performance is great and I was able to run most 3-d apps and games with no problems as well. I was using the on board vga which was lousy. I highly recommend this card, though I suppose if your into really heavy 3d gaming perhaps there ar faster cards but not at this price. Works on 4x AGP slots and 8x agp slots. Also, download the software from the xfx site as the drivers that come with it are old.very nice for video editing as well ,but the best part is running two 21" monitors a 1280x1024 with 85hz refresh.nice!!
A wonderful solution March 31, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you are looking for a much needed Vid Card update for an out of date board this is it. I have an old Sony Vaio and needed a GeForce 6200+ card for a game i purchased. Problem was I have an AGP 4x slot and couldn't find a card to spec.'s to work until this one. I upgraded to this from a GeForce 5200 and it is a world of difference. As I said I have a Sony Vaio, it's a PCV-RX860 with a ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4S533VX Motherboard. If you are upgrading your vid card, it's almost necessary to upgrade your PSU (Power Supply Unit) if it is below 300 Watts as mine was. With the design of this Vid Card it doesn't matter how close your AGP slot is to your PSU because, the vid card is slotted out where a PSU may extend beyond the AGP slot. This was a great find, and a great buy for the price. Not to mention if I upgrade my system further I can carry this card over to an AGP 8x. Also if you go to the XFX website that is very helpful (unlike others) they have the links to upgrade the drivers and even overclock your new vidcard. If your looking at this card, stop looking and put it in your cart, I'm glad I did.
Better Resolution Possible March 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchased this card as an upgrade for better resolution after I picked up a new WIDESCREEN monitor recently. I needed 1440x900 and the 256MB onboard was a big help also. All in all a big improvement over my old card and at a very good price.
Perfect for HDTV March 27, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this because I wanted to improve the resolution on my Samsung 52 inch LCD 1080p HDTV which I was using as a second monitor. Dramatic improvement over the S-Video connection which I was using. Bought a DVI-HDMI adapter and connected to the HDMI1 port on my TV. A very cost-effective solution to my problem.
