Excelent Graphics, to much noise !! July 29, 2008 I you are looking for a system with less noise, dont buy this, I bought a ZALMAN power supply to reduce noise inside my case, but only my 8800 gt, makes to much noise, is impossible to watch a movie, or listen music.
But.... Graphics are excelent !!! Movies are so clear, no problem with heat, I love it !!
Nice Card! Perfect For Crysis July 12, 2008 This is a great Video Card.. I installed it on a Phenom 9850 PC and it works perfectly. It is noise.. but to be honest I dont care about it. I just want performance and play my favorite games such as Crysis
Alpha Dog is a great pet. July 8, 2008 This is the stroy as it goes: I bought this video cards (two) because of it's price and technical data, that seemed so fair. They are sooo good looking and when I got them I was really excited. But, oh my God... the box reads "Minimum power supply 500W for one card, 600W for two", and mine was just 400 tiny Watts, sooo, I bought a 750W monster power supply (energy crysis?). Finally I could install and run my new friends, gotta say they use a lot of space inside the case. You need an ATX case to hold these babies inside, not just for the size, but for the heat they generate. And you must leave free space where the heat is disipated, I mean not even cables must be close to the area near the fan. Well, I gotta say I played again my favorite games from the beginning because this was a new experience for me. No game freezed, and all 'em ran in full quality. For example, Crysis, it runs beautifully and in high specs. Crysis is the only game that really heats up the GPU's, even to 80 Celsius, but it runs great (I have a Core 2 Duo @2.66 GHz). But other games like TimeShift, Mass Effect, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, Grid, they all are sooo smoothand cool. I gotta say I am happy with this product, great for gamers if you don't want to spend more than $400 USD in two SLI video cards.
Good graphics, good value, but noisy fan is a deal-breaker July 5, 2008 I'm having the same experience others have mentioned here: the fan runs much too loudly, and all the time. It's loud enough to be distracting during the games that I bought the card for. When I'm not gaming, it's even more distracting.
I will contact XFX support, but unless they can easily resolve this issue, I can't recommend the card. There are other 8800GT cards available; you'll pay more, but it might be worth it.
Nvidia 8800 gt video card June 28, 2008 Awesome card. Runs all games I have at max setting. Games include age of connan and world of warcraft.
