I wanted a nice graphics card for Crysis and future games so I bought one, works very well but something better will inevitably come out next year.

By far this is the fastest card I ever tried. I recommended to anyone who like FPS andother games with high graphics demand.
So If you want the best go ahead and byu this product...

I bought this video card for my 17 year old son. It works gread but the big disappointment was that I had to buy and new power supply and mother board to support the new video card as the old ones were not compatible.

First off, this thing is fast. Extremely fast. Like jack up all the Crysis video settings to the max and still get smooth gameplay (about 30 FPS at 1920 x 1200) fast. I was going to get another to do SLI, but what's the point? Try using one card before you drop another $450 to go SLI with this. Unless you "need" 60 fps at 2560 x 1600, you'll likely do fine with just one of these.
Also, make sure you have enough power for this card. It requires two PCI power connectors - one eight pin and one six pin. Not to mention that it draws about 200+ watts at peak power. Check the specs on your power supply, and check closely.
Now, for the not so good... this card is a prime candidate for aftermarket cooling. The nVidia system monitor shows the GPU temperature exceeding 100 degrees C when it's being stressed. And meanwhile, the onboard stock GPU cooling fan is screaming away like a hair dryer. So, if anything about this card disappoints, it's the stock cooling.

Hablar de esta tarjeta de video es hablar de la ultima creacion de Nvidia que como todos sabemos al momento sus productos son excelentes hasta por encima de la competencia, esta tarjeta de video no es la excepcion realmente como lo coloque en el titulo es una bestia, por varias razones,
1... su potencia, no hay nada hasta ahora en el mercado que se le parezca para ser una tarjeta con un solo procesador y 1GB de RAM DDR3 le sienta de maravilla a cualquier juego ya que ninguno se le resiste y colocando todas las opciones graficas en lo mas alto realmente excepcional,
2... bestia porque si que consume electricidad, el fabricante XFX recomienda minimo una fuente de poder de 650W para mantener a la bestia saciada de su alimento, yo la tengo conectada a una fuente Corsair HX620W y corre bien!
3... cuando realizas tareas normales como navegar en internet, Word o cualquier programa que no necesite mostrar graficos complejos en pantalla la temperatura de la tarjeta es normal un promedio de 40 pero cuando inicias un juego preparate para calefaccion en tu cuarto o donde tengas la PC porque esta bestia si que se calienta, bueno estoy exagerando algo pero realmente se calienta como ninguna otra! Llegando a marcar los 75 en menos de 4 a 5 minutos de haber iniciado el juego, su ventilador es autoregulable y cuando la grafica mas necesite del este mas revoluciones por minutos brindara es decir mas aire y como consecuencia aumenta el ruido de la computadora, si a este factor le prestas mucha atencion como algunos preparate para soportar el ruido, vamos tampoco es que sea muy fuerte a mi ni me incomoda y tengo mi CPU en todo el frente encima de la mesa junto al monitor.
Bueno estos tres factores me parecieron importantes de comentar. En cuanto a la marca es excelente, para mi EVGA y XFX son las mejores. Vengo de una EVGA 8800 GTS 640MB SuperClocked, tarjeta que me brindo muchas horas exquisitas frente al ordenador, la vendi pata actualizar a esta, Opte por esta marca antes que EVGA porque para el momento de la compra Amazon tenia este modelo a un precio excelente la EVGA no.
Realmente es una bestia de tarjeta con un acabado y presentacion realmente impresionantes, XFX se ha ganado aun mas mi respetos, como dije antes EVGA y XFX para mi los mejores fabricantes de las tarjetas graficas de Nvidia!
Aun me falta probarla mas pero hasta ahora vuelvo y se los repito no hay nada que se le resista y todo se lo come! Realmente la recomiendo si quieres tener lo ultimo y mas potente del mercado al momento, sobre todo con la reduccion tan grande de precio que tuvieron debido a la nueva serie de ATI las Radeon 4870, que son excelentes en rendimiento y con un precio muy inferior a estas GTX 280, razon por la cual muchos optan por ellas en esta guerra de ultima generacion y la verdad lo justifico, si el dinero es el problema ve con ATI, en esta jornada de graficas te dan mas por menos!
Pero mi consejo definitivo es el siguiente: ESPERA ANTES DE TOMAR UNA DECISION EN LA COMPRA DE ESTAS GPU A LA QUE PROMENTE SER LA BRUTALIDAD DE LAS BRUTALIDADES EN PONTENCIA LA RADEON 4870 X2 DE ATI, luego compara rendimiento y precios, para el momento de escribir esta review no se encontraba en el mercado pero promete ser mas potente que esta GTX 280 claro llevara en sus entranas 2 procesadores en vez de uno.
Sin mas que decir yo opte por esta XFX GTX 280 y ha sido una decision brutal!!!
Muy feliz y lo siguiente queda entre nosotros ok? No me canso de verla porque aparte de potente es bellisima, si tuviera novia estaria celosa jajaja, AH! olvide decir que este modelo incluye el excelente, aunque repetitivo juego de Ubisoft Assassins Creed, original y completo!
