November 14, 2008 All of this titles are being blockbuster on playstion there is not much to say besides you won't find it cheap it, you can find reviews in any game website. the only thing i will like to say is that no matter how old the MGS1 it is ...still being the best!

Good, but not "essential" October 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Included in this set are three exceptional games. As has been said far too many times, these games have "redefined the stealth genre". Of course, Metal Gear was about all there was to the stealth genre for years, so what this means is that they are highly improved sequels.
Now that I've brought up Metal Gear, it may be pertinent to mention to prospective buyers that Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake do not come in this packaged deal. It is a shame that they called this the "essential" collection while leaving out the first two games.
The other games are great though, and worth the purchase. Grab the two-disc special edition of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater if you want to play Metal Gear 1 & 2 though. Just don't go on calling this the "essential" collection.
Frustrating Game for Casual Gamers! October 16, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
OK I'm going against the grain a bit here, but honestly I grew up with the series and loved the originals from NES through PlayStation. However, if you are looking to jump into this game to play a few hours a week this is NOT the game for you! Half the game is stupid plot cinemas, and while the voice acting and graphics are above average it's not really as engaging as you would expect it to be. Furthermore, the controls are really frustrating, if you are used to X being enter for PS/PS2 and PS3 games then you have to get used to the O buttong being the default enter button...sounds simple enough but trust me it's frustrating. Also the close quarters combat mode, which is vital to a stealth game consistenly does not act the way you want it to. I'm still giving this 3 stars because even with all these annoyances I'm playing through because I'm stubbourn, plus it's actually a great deal with all these games under $30...but be warned, if you are a casual gamer this is not the game for you.
MGS Collection October 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best MGS collection I could ever ask for. It was EXACTLY like the orginal ps1 and ps2 versions. All I can say is that if you're a MGS fan, you should get this collection and play it for yourselves!
