BUEN PRODUCTO, PERO LE FALTA MOVILIDAD HORIZONTAL. June 9, 2008 ES UN BUEN PRODUCTO, PERO IDEA SERIA QUE TUVIESE MOVILIDAD HORIZONTAL.. CREO Q ESO ES UN DEFECTO QUE TIENE
A must have for auto use June 4, 2008 I use my Garmin in my cars, on my bike and handheld. For auto use the bracket is a must have. The GPS must be able to "see" the sky to pick up signals from the satellites so ideally it should sit on the dash by the windshield. This bracket securely holds the GPS onto the sandbag like base and allows the unit to be angled and tilted in various ways to reduce glare on the screen.
I've also purchased the Garmin bike handlebar mount and the bracket portion attaches directly to that as well.
Hands Free at Last March 29, 2008 I was looking for a product that would do what this mounting bracket does. In the past I used to hold my GPSr in hand till I reach a location, but now I just slide it in and I am free to use both hands to drive.
What I like the most is that you can use it on any car, even if you want to use it on a friend's or a rental, you can travel with it since it is very light and small to pack.
Works great! March 27, 2008 For the price, this product is almost perfect. I found that it can be reconfigured (which they don't tell you) in a number of orientations so the adjustment axes and knobs suite your requirements. The only drawback is no yaw adjust, in other words, you can't point the screen in the direction (side-to-side) that you want it to point. Seems like this would have been easy enough to do with a simple ball-joint, but hey... Most times it's not a problem since the mounting surface (windshield) is perpendicular to the viewer, anyway. As far as adhesion, I've used it in some pretty gnarly off-road situations and it hasn't come loose yet. If you use a DC power supply, the mount is designed to allow the DC plug to clear the mount, but it's sort of a pain to get the plug in after it's mounted - or to get it mounted once plugged in for that matter. Easiest if you can just leave it mounted in place.
Garmin Windshield Mounting Bracket GPS-60 Series February 13, 2008 Bracket adheres very well to windshield and is fully adjustable to conform to various windshield angles. Has stayed on during sub zero midwest winter temperatures. Would definitely recommend.
