Great mounting bracket June 16, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This bracket mount is adaptable to the bike mount as well as the automotive mount, works well.
try something else... May 31, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased a Jeep Liberty a few months ago and because there's no space for a dashboard mount, I decided to try the windshield mount - despite having read the poor reviews. I figured "well, maybe some people just didn't clean the suction cup and windshield beforehand", etc... couldn't be *that* bad, could it? In a nutshell, it is. I cleaned both with a mild soapy solution, with windex, plain water, tried applying it in moist, wet, and dry conditions, etc... the small suction cup simply isn't capable of securely holding the mount in place over a prolonged period of time. Sometimes the GPS would fall after a half hour, usually within a few hours, other times I'll get in the car only to find the mount and GPS laying on the floor. The mount isn't worth it in my opinion, and I'll be looking for something else. I've even already considered *gluing* the mount to the windshield. I love Garmin and their line of GPS units, they make some amazing products. But unfortunately their windshield mount isn't one of them.
It doesn't stick to my window May 31, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I haven't been able to get this bracket to stick to the window of my Jeep no matter what I try, and that's just in the driveway, without the GPS in it. I can't imagine it would hold on the road, especially on rough terrain. The suction cup is flat and wimpy. I'd skip it and try the one that has the lock down mechanisim for your dashboard. If I only had a dashboard, I would have picked that one myself. I may try putting my own suction cup on it.
Garmin Strret Pilot GPS May 29, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am totally amazed as to how great this system works. I would not travel again without one of these devices on board.
Does the job May 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product does the job. The suction cup sticks to the window very securely. As other reviewers have mentioned, the gps will vibrate to some degree, but I found this to be a minor annoyance at worst. Would be nice if you could swivel the unit from side to side.
But overall, I have happy with this product.
