Here's some Pros and Cons of Nuvi 350 April 26, 2007 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
Pros: - easy enough to use - clear voice - no monthly fees - small enough to walk with - Canada and U.S. maps - price ($398 USD)
Cons: - voice guidance does not give street name or exit number - cannot talk to it and receive guidance - somewhat difficult to quickly mount and dismount in car - any features you want to download as extras (such as fishing maps) are VERY expensive
Excellent used in USA and Canada April 25, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have used this unit in Canada - Toronto city and in USA, found no problem at all. POI searching capability is excellent.
What else can you ask for? April 24, 2007 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
This is my first GPS. Bought it as a present for my dad. But I tested it for about a week because I had to teach my dad how to use it (he's not very good with electronics). Very user friendly. I don't really have any gripes except for three things:
1. I wish it had a volume wheel. Having to go through the menu and using the touchscreen is bothersome.
2. Points of interests (gas stations, restaurants, etc.) are only visible when the map is zoomed-in quite a bit. So much that you can only see a few hundred feet of road.
3. Many neighborhoods and towns that are geographically located in major cities are not denoted by the city's name, even though the town is an integral segment of the city. Instead, you have to search by the neighborhood or town's name as denoted by the post office location. For example, if you live in New York City, you can't enter "New York" as the city and start searching for an address in Brooklyn or Queens. You have to enter "Brooklyn" or the very specific postal name in Queens: e.g. "Astoria" or "Whitestone."
The navigation is pretty accurate and the directions are okay. I really have nothing to compare it to since I never owned a GPS.
[UPDATE]
I haven't been able to find a way to search via zipcode. Anyone know how? It'll solve the problem of using the correct name of the postal town/village.
Compact and Versatile April 24, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This product is a little expensive, but well worth the money. I have not used the photo display or the MP3 functions(I'll probably never will), but the rest of the product is outstanding. I won't go anywhere without it. But remember, don't ever leave it in the car where someone can see it because someone broke into my car and stole my last GPS. Anyways, I highly recommend this product.
The greatest thing I own... April 24, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just received this product for my 25th birthday, and it is amazing. Not only do I never have to worry about being lost again, I have an MP3 player, a language translator, a currency converter, and more. The Uber-Portability of this item is what makes it the best model around. It is easy to see while driving, but can also comfortably fit in your pocket.
