5 out of 5 stars My Garmin 350   April 18, 2007

I have had this GPS system for almost a month and am very satisfied with it. The main reason for getting a GPS system it does very well, getting you to a place you have no idea how to get to and back. That is the only reason I wanted one. If you are lost hit home and it will get you home, think if this was your son or daughter lost someplace, it sure beats asking a stranger in a strange place for help.

Set up is extremely easy, finds satellites quickly, using the TTS voices it will speak street names and give turning prompts well in advance of the turns clearly. I don't really care for the MP3 playing capability but I have it, I don't care about the audio book feature but I have it. I care about getting from point A to point B and back, and that is why I got it. You will not be sorry purchasing this system, the compact size it great and the brightness and view-ability is excellent.

Wow! We got this today and didn't even have to read the things that came with it. I am very pleased with this GPS. No more mapquest for me! You can even set a security code for it just in case it gets stolen or a security place where you go to make it work again... I'll try and figure that out, but I just had to write a review. there's also a feature where it will let you know if there's traffic. Again, I'll have to figure that out also. Instead of saying, "Make a u-turn" it will tell you to turn on the street you're on... for example, "On Garrisonville Road, turn on Garrisonville Road." That was kinda tricky. that's all for now. This invention is awesome!!!

3 out of 5 stars Great when you don't know your way.   April 18, 2007

I originally rated this 3 stars but I've grown to like the GPS more. If I could change the star rating, I would bump it up to 4. My original gripe was that if you know the area well you'll often find it calculates awful routes.

However, when you know the area well there is no reason to use the GPS. I was using it around home to play with it.

When I use it in places I am not familiar with I love it. Sure, it may be calculating an awful route, but I am blissfully ignorant. It always gets you there.

Specific things I like about this model: small size is great, easy to put in your pocket or your bag when you leave the car. screen is bright in day. voice is clear. ease of use. found signal in the city most of the time.

5 out of 5 stars Tons of info in a small package   April 17, 2007

Everything about this GPS is great. Small yet easy to use. Very accurate. It's compact size fit in my shirt pocket and its easy to detach from the window mount is awesome. Its search times were faster than another GPS I tried. Its information for searching for gas stations and businesses was fast. I highly recommend this unit. I will likely buy another one for my son to have for his travels.

5 out of 5 stars Best Mid-Level GPS Out There   April 17, 2007

I've spent several years wanting to buy a GPS and have kept up on the latest products out there. First of all in my opinion Garmin is the industry leader in GPS technology, so if you don't buy this one I would highly recommend you look at buying Garmin. These devices have come a long way. Just a couple years ago a GPS that had these features was the size of a half brick and the form factor was about the same as a brick too. You had to rest it on your dashboard with a bean bag mount. Now the Nuvi series has given you all of the features of those bid devices in a beautiful form factor that is the size of a deck of cards.
I've had this unit for about a month now and love the portability. When walking you can carry this around in your hand for on the go GPS support to a nearby restaurant or point of interest.
Basically when you buy this you can throw out all of your maps because you won't need them. I would highly recommend the Nuvi 350. If you need handsfree calling get the 360.
