5 out of 5 stars A Must Have   April 16, 2007

I've purchased it about a month ago I started by using it around my area to test it. It works exstremely well even showing me short cuts I was unaware of. Some of the nicest features is when you make a wrong turn it recalculates within seconds usally showing you a new way to go so if you turned off due to traffic it shows you a different way to go it just doesn't tell you to u turn.

Also another great feature is, lets say your trying to find a resturant, ups store, car wash, gas station whatever you can easily look it up and find it quickly and easily. Which is a great feature while I was on Vacation in NY I used it constantly to find local shopping mall, parking garages, attractions etc

While in NY I had 2 occasions where the road I was supposed to turn on was closed due to construction and it routed me around no problem. It also gives you a lot of notice on turns it will tell you (depending on your speed) move right exit in 8/10th of a mile on deer road then again at 4/10th then it will say turn right now. While walking in NY I switched the unit to pedestrion mode and it worked perfect the battery lasted for about 4 hours

I found it to be very accurate it has made a couple of small mistakes but nothing is perfect I highly recommend. I found the sound to be very good even with my radio way up I could hear it enough to turn the radio down to catch what it is saying.

When you get it you want to update it on your computter which is very simple to correct a daylight savingd time problem. You also need to change the voice settings to english with TTS after it so it will speak the street names.

It is a great product that does what it supposed to a must have.

This is an excellent tool for the traveler. I just started in a new territory and could not have performed this job without it. Graphics are clear. However, there were a few roads not loaded into the system.
Other than that, I rate this product 4 stars.

I used it right out of the box, took a trip, and it worked faultlessly. I had many detours to contend with but it got me right back on the right path. A great product.

This product is very nice and smart, runs good. Very easy to use. Recalculate fast. But, sometimes, when start up, it costs a long time to acquire signal . That's why I didn't give it 5 stars.

With the sale price, this unit was a steal. It works fine, with a few exceptions, and the written instructgions are so minimal, they might as well have left them out. First, if the back isn't open, it doesn't connect to the satelite - which is not written anywhere.

Also, understanding where to turn took a bit of getting used to. The instructions first give you a distance to the next turn, then when it is time to turn, it repeats the instructions, but without the distance, i.e., "In one half mile turn right at Smith Road." When Smith Road is the next turn, it says, "Turn right at Smith Road." Other GPS I used, say, "Turn right now."

Lastly, if you have difficulty hearing, you might have problems with the sound quality (my elderly father can't hear it if the road noise is too great).

This is a handy gadget, and my family loves it - personally I'm sticking to using a paper map.
