Garmin Nuvi 350 pocket or vehicle navigator January 12, 2007 Love the product. Very user friendly-- easy to see the screen and use. Felt as though we received good price compared to what they sell in stores and it was very convient going through Amazon. We have had no problems except we have had to fiddle around with the suction mounting kit. Highly recommend.
garmin nuvi 350 pocket is great January 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent gps device. I was in washington, dc for new year(2007), and as a frequent road-trip-traveller, i challenged myself not to research about the area, but relied on the nuvi. What was the result of it? I did not get lost, i drove like a local. I know where the POI(Point of interests in a heart beat). These all can be only happened with Nuvi. Love it, love it, love it.
Garmin Nuvi 350 will get you where you want to go! January 12, 2007 I purchased the Garmin Nuvi 350 after getting lost lost on a trip. After a 4 hour drive I was within 20 miles of my destination. I made numerous stops and cell phone calls to ask directions, but spent more time on the last 20 miles than the rest of the trip. The Garmin Nuvi 350 is very easy to use. Its quick set up instructions are enough to get you started and the unit works very well. The included maps are easy to read and you have the choice of a 2 or 3 dimensional map. The Nuvi 350 has excellent audible directions and you can choose from several very human sounding voices. The directions the unit gives are very clear and timely. I always have plenty of time to act on the directions given. The touch screen works well. While traveling the unit gives current speed, maximum speed, time moving, and time not moving. It gives a very accurate estimated time of arrival that is continuously updated . I use the unit regularly to help find distant locations, and for short trips when I am not sure of directions. I have used the unit to listen to an Audible Book while traveling. If the Nuvi needs to give directions while the book is playing, it pauses the book, gives the directions, and then resumes the book. You can also pause the book if you want to concentrate on directions from Nuvi. I have had the Nuvi for 2 months, and have not yet used all of its features. I am very satisfied with the Garmin Nuvi 350. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a GPS unit.
Just awful January 11, 2007 6 out of 15 found this review helpful
This product is just awful. It takes forever to acquire a satellite. Once it does, it is initially confused as to where it is, basically thinking it is at the last destination it reached. I've faithfully updated the firmware every time a new iteration comes out and the product doesn't get any better. In areas where there are a lot of streets, it gets confused and sends you in the wrong direction. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I would give it zero stars if Amazon had such a rating.

Fairly easy to use out of the box. I was lucky enough to know someone that already had one. It was confusing that when you enter an address that to save it you have to hit done, if you don't you won't have the address again if you had intended on storing it. You have to remember that the global positioning system isn't 100% accurate. When using it to go to a relatives home I needed it because it is a fairly complicated area, once there it announced the house was on the right when it was on the left. So make sure you check the addresses. IT can be off. Also if there has been recent construction it might not be updated to tell you where the entrance is on a highway.
The nice thing is if you take a wrong turn, the unit announces "recalculating" in a rather upset voice, and then gives you another route. It won't necessarily give you the fastest route, but you will get there.
