Garmin StreetPilot c550 July 28, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Garmin StreetPilot c550 is the best thing next to the cell phone, I would not part with it for all the money in the world!!!
I've used a lot of GPS units and this one is plain average July 27, 2007 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
With my line of work, I've had the fun of using a number of different GPS units to travel - a lot. I would definitely tell you that this unit does not compare with the features of a TomTom. Sure its got blue-tooth if you really use that a lot, but there are many things this unit lacks to its competitors. First, this unit does not have a compass on the display screen Second, this unit doesn't have a clock, it simply tells you the time it WILL be when you arrive, not the time it is currently Third, you can only determine distances from your current location, TomTom allows you to punch in two random locations to see their distance, like mapquest. Fourth, there is only a detour function, allowing you to go a few miles around a jam ONLY WHEN you get there, with TomTom you can actually lay out your route, then instruct it to avoid or use certain roads you want to travel
There are other minor things that annoy me about this product, of course its not a waste of money if you have one- it will get you to where you want to go. But for the amount of money it costs trust me, go with a TomTom.
WORTH EVERY DOLLAR I PAID FOR IT July 26, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
THIS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT. OUR FAMILY USED IT IN OUR LAST TRIP TO ARIZONA AND CALIFORNIA AND WORKS AMAZINGLY. IT HAS EVERY STORE, SHOPING MALL, HOTEL, AIRPORT, EVEN FORESTS, LAKES AND SHORES. AND ALL THE ADRESSES YOU CAN TYPE BY NUMBER, STREET AND ZIP! IT ALSO SPEAKS SPANISH AND FRENCH AND HAS AN MP3 PLAYER.
I STRONGLY RECOMEND THE GARMIN C550 FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO TRAVEL IN THE USA BOTH IN HIGHWAYS OR INSIDE THE CITIES. SORRY FOR RANDY MCNALLY BUT I WILL NEVER BUY A PAPER MAP AGAIN THANKS TO C550.
ANOTHER AMAZING FEATURE IS THE CAPABILITY TO RECEIVE FM SIGNALS THAT WARNS ABOUT TRAFFIC AHEAD. AND YOU CAN EVEN ANSWER YOUR PHONE CAUSE IS BLUETOOTH READY.
I SIMPLY LOVE THIS. DONT THINK TWICE. THIS IS THE RIGHT MODEL X YOU.

We used this on a short trip to a destination we didn't know, and it directed us right to the front door. Very satisfied with product
My First GPS and I love it! July 22, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had my street pilot for a week and a half and I have found it to be accurate and easy to use. I got a bluetooth phone and found out that the 550 can actually make calls when the phone is nearby. I can hardly wait for my vacation in WA in two weeks to really test it when I am in unfamuluar territory.
