100% satisfied February 19, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product was very easy to use immediately. I had read that it can take a little time to connect to the satellite but we have not experienced that at all. Screen is easy to read, voice is clear and it gives me great peace of mind when I go to unfamiliar areas.
GREAT DEVICE February 19, 2007 I TRAVEL IN MY VEHICLE FOR A LIVING, SOMETIMES TO REMOTE PLACES WHERE PEOPLE AND MAPS ARE NO HELP. THIS NAVIGATOR HAS GOTTEN ME TO MY DESTINATION WITH ONLY TWO GLITCHES WHERE IT TOOK ME TO A DEAD END AT A GOLF COURSE, THE SAME PLACE TWICE! MAYBE IT WANTS TO BE THERE...BUT DESPITE THIS ERROR, I LOVE IT AND DEPEND ON IT TO GET ME WHERE I NEED TO GO SAVING ME VALUABLE TIME AND NO MORE HASSLING WITH MAPS. IT IS EASY TO USE RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, DIDN'T EVEN READ THE DIRECTIONS UNTIL DAY THREE. ANTGI GLARE IS GREAT AND VOICE ACTIVATION IS GREAT FOR TRAVELING ALONE SO YOU DON'T NEED TO STARE AT THE SCREEN WHILE DRIVING.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. IT BROUGHT UP THE RESTAURANTSAND HOTELS NEAR MY HOME WITH ACCURACY SO I KNOW I CAN RELY ON IT WHILE TRAVELING. GREAT PRICE TOO, WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
Never Get Lost Again: Simply Outrageous Deal February 19, 2007 I rented the StreetPilot c530 from Avis car rental on a trip and the Garmin StreetPilot c530 GPS was very helpful in navigating through the many twists and turns of my journey. I am planning on purchasing my own in the near future.

Garmin c530, excellent performance February 16, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've had the Garmin c530 for about a month now. This is the first nav system I've had. In general, it works very well. About 90% of the addresses I enter, the routes it gives are very good. The other 10% are, shall we say, a bit twitchy. They get you where you're going, but nobody would have chosen that route. Also, if you miss a turn, or decide to go a different way, it is very fast to re-calculate a new route. Almost without fail, the unit tells you the right times to turn, so following its directions is quite easy.
I've updated the software for the unit from the Garmin website, and it worked quickly without issues. The nav picks up the satellites very quickly and there's little delay in getting going. The unit also does a good job of anticipating what address you are entering, so you don't need to push a lot of buttons to input the address.
I live in Dallas, and the maps in general are very complete, but there are a few areas where the maps are not quite up to date, especially in the far north suburbs where there is a lot of new construction.
Highly recommended.
Like a cell phone, now that I've had one I'll Never Go Back! February 15, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I think this is one of the greatest devices I've used yet! There are SOOO many more uses for it than one might think! I used it recently in the bank to double check a zip code on an address I mostly knew while at the same time finding out exactly how long I had to stand in line. My only gripe is that there is no way to 'draw in' my own streets or bldngs in the mapping software, but it is the same software most of these dohickeys use. Easy to use and helps with those turns I always have trouble with! It's identical to the c550 except the 530 has no blue tooth which doesn't bother me! Get's better reception than the one one step down.
