Highway Completed One Year Ago Not On My Garmin July 22, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love my Garmin Nuvi 660 and it is great for finding my way around old, established neighborhoods, but it has been almost two years since the I-95/I-295 interchange has been completed in my city and Garmin still wants me to make a U-turn immediately or get off at an exit that no longer exists. I wonder how often it can be updated. I logged on and was told I had the latest updates.
Aside from that it is easy to use, the screen size is perfect and clear even at night. I am looking forward to using it on a long trip.

Generally this item is fantastic! The only problem I have encountered on a regular basis is that it sometimes says there is no such address when there is, or no such street when there is. It won't let you enter what it thinks is a non-existent address. Also, in remote areas, it doesn't recognize some locations.
The food and lodging features are a Godsend! When we were in a new city and wanted something to eat, it found places for us.
Best GPS I have ever seen. July 20, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Holy toledo, the mother of all GPS for car use. I bought one hesitantly, but it has saved me a trillion times by now. I wanted it simple to use, because my wife would have never used it otherwise, and I have yet to get lost again. Most important: great for those who can't tell north from south. The screen is large and the callouts of streets clear. No extra words, just simple and to the point. I would have purchased a Magellan but the complexity would have my loved ones pulling their hair. All I can say is that its worth every penny.
You'll love this gadget... Guaranteed!!!! July 20, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Attention; Husbands, wives, your children will love this fine gadget from Garmin. We enjoy going to places now because of its accuracy and efficiency. Everybody that has riding my car love this gadget too, in fact two of my friends ordered online. Some pros include accuracy, the bright screen, sound is ok for direction, and the POI, just type name, and presto!. Even grandma! can manage to input street or name of places. Very easy to use. So what you waiting for! Buy one! Lowest price online $499. Oh yea, get the dash mount too. Enjoy!
Everything it's cracked up to be July 20, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After extensive research and comparison, we chose the Garmin 660 because of its large screen, and easy and reliable mount. The unit works great. It easily mounts and dismounts. We have not experienced problems with delays in recalculating routes when taking another route than the one recommended. The recalculation took only seconds. Garmin made it very easy to download and upgrade to the latest operating software for the unit, something you should do right away. One minor gripe, which I suspect is endemic to these systems, is that the GPS does not always pick the ideal route, if you happen to know the territory. For example, it puts us on a route that stays on major roads, but is longer and out of the way. You have to make sure to change to the setting you want, either shortest distance or shortest time. Also, I recommend going to www.gpsmagazine.com for indepth reviews of GPS units.
