Garmin nuvi 660 Vehicle GPS Navigator November 16, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
If I could rate this Garmin nuvi 660 a 10, I would. It has navigated me through 12 states since June with only one hitch; it took me to a new housing development when I was trying to locate a nursing home. Brand new developments are generally not on the pre-mapped areas. They can be downloaded, however. I am never without my GPS Garmin nuvi 660.
Technology to increase your confidence! November 14, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I will readily admit that I have a directional deficiency. I can (and do)get lost in my own home area, and I also travel a lot and need to drive in unfamiliar locations. I decided to invest/splurge on a GPS system, and boy am I glad I did! I feel much more confident driving around, especially on a recent business trip.
The Garmin unit is very nice: the large screen and intuitive touch controls are easy to use, and the map display is very well executed. The default map view makes it easy to see the correspondence between the map and the outside world while you're driving. Also, the voice output is great, even if the voice (David, the British male TTS voice) I picked sometimes pronounces street names in an amusing way.
The only criticism I have is about the car charger...it plugs into the mounting bracket and not the unit itself. I don't like to use the mounting bracket, because I need to move it between vehicles on a regular basis (including rental cars), so this is a bit of a pain. And, since the battery life is not super-long (seems to be around 3 hours, given the brightness and volume I have it set at), you could end up having a problem on even medium-length trips.
Awesome!!! November 9, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
We just moved from MN to Long Island and I didn't know how to get anywhere. I had a folder with map quest directions from home, but they were not always right! Now I have my Garmin GPS and I am in heaven!! I can go anywhere with confidence and not get frustrated. I use my phone through my GPS so I am driving with both hands on the wheel and I can find places to go. My husband got this for my birthday and it's the best present I have gotten in a long time! It is an AWESOME GPS!!
Love it!!! November 6, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the garmin nuvi 660. It gets you where you need to go and if you miss a turn, it quickly tells you "recaculating". This item is amazingggggggg... I'm very pleased with this product and would buy it again if i had to.

This is very a very nice product although, I drive semi and have used it while driving what I've known as the shortest route, it wants me to take a differemt route that I know for certain is longer. By taking the route I chose, it had shown I had taken the shorter. Another thing I've noticed is it sometimes shows I am off the road and driving in some field when in fact, I am on the right road.
