Delivers as promised October 13, 2007 Great product. Works right out of the box. Easy to understand menus. Easy to set up the blue tooth with cell phone, did it without reading instructions. Easy to download MP3 files. Overall quality product that makes driving easier.
Great little helper on trips October 13, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We used the nuvi 660 for the first time on a circle driving trip around Wisconsin and found it very useful. It took us right to a store we wanted to shop at, a restaurant to eat at, a relative's house to visit, a B&B to stay at, a State Park not easily found by road map (easily found by nuvi), and on to one last relative's house to visit before heading home. It worked great. Only one glitch when a newer roadway seemed to fool the nuvi for a few miles. It thought we had driven off the highway into a field nearby kept trying to get us to take the next road to get back on the planned route (which we actually had never really left). Otherwise, it knew all the roads we needed to take.
just okay October 11, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Used this GPS for a trip across country, as well as around town. The device itself is quite functional...easy to enter info and a clear sound and instructions. However, the instructions it gives have been VERY disappointing. They are inaccurate and have cost me hours of travel because they have taken me through back country roads and around in circles. I've gone back to using Mapquest before I leave and just use the Garmin for backup insurance.
EASY RIDER October 10, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Right out of the box this little gem worked like a charm. One of the easiest set-ups I have ever done. Charge it, mount it on the window and plug in the adapter. You simply follow the menu prompts and set your destination. We deliberately took a couple of wrong turns as a test. The Nuvi 660 immediately came up with a new route to get us back on track. Fits in your pocket. Excellent Design.
Good Gadget October 10, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have been using this product for over a month now. This stuff is good and like every other person giving a review for this product, I never got lost after having this GPS (well pretty much the same with any GPS i guess) The MP3 player --> FM transmitter works pretty good. So does the bluetooth, no echo effects like other claimed while I bought the product. The History (recently visited) option on GPS is helpful if you wan to go to the old location again. Database is pretty huge in terms of finding restaurant, entertainment stuff, golf cources etc in the vicinity.
Now the problems. I just saw one problem. While you try to initiate the bluetooth on the system, the GPS hangs up. On calling the Tech support I was told that the file that is being accessed for bluetooth is corrupt. They provided me a new file to replaced the old one and it worked for some time until last week. I have the same problem again enabling my bluetooth. I will have to put the new file again and update the GPS SW to probably parmanently get this problem fixed.
Else this thing is a HANDY GADGET!!!
