Purchased this product. When trying to update my gps, it encounteres an error. Now I have a unit that has no maps at all because the first step is to erase. Garmin has been no help at all. I have an expensive piece of junk now.

The product name is misleading. The 2008 update is really a 2007 update since Garmin is already advertising the upcoming 2009 update.

I'm a truck driver who has driven over 250,000 miles in 42 of the 48 lower states in 2 plus years. I have a Garmin 330c streetpilot and had purchased the 2008 update 6 months ago thinking it would of course...update. It was and is a major disappointment. It was a waste of money and I would not recommend it to anyone. Roads that I have known to have been built and have been in use for over 4 years are not on the update. I have emailed Garmin(4 months ago) asking for a response and as of yet have not been contacted. It was my conclusion and after reading reviews from others I now know that this "update" is not at all an update, so by all means save your money. However after many conversations with other drivers I do believe that Garmin is the leader in GPS navigation and would purchase a Garmin again, but would be very leary of any map update.

Not much can be said of a GPS up-date. But just a warning. We have more than 1 Garmin GPS in our household and the up-date can only be used on 1. We had to purchase another one to up-date my husbands GPS.

Nice update, though there's still a LOT that is missing. Stores that have been there for years are still not in the database, as are some streets.
