Handle Bar mounted on Suzuki Motorcycle December 28, 2007 Mounted on Suzuki SV650 handle bar. Fit perfectly between handlebar risers (see pics). Good quality, fit like it came from the factory. So far it's holding up like a champ. Especially for $12 and change...hard to beat.
This product is great, but the actual Vista GPS I have....I had a similar problem that was already discused in a previous review, with the random shut offs. I solved it the same way with a couple pieces of foam. My Vista unit was actually doing this all the time (in cars, in hand, layin in tank bag on ATV or motorcycle...etc)not just on the bike. Works great now.
works but need a little something November 30, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this to use in my motorcycle, mounts very easy, but the backplate doesnt have any type of cushion for the batteries,so if you have it on and it a bump it causes the gps to go off, then it takes a while for the gps to callibrate, and just when it starts working good, bump.I cut small peices of foam and inserted between the batteries and the back and it helps the problem alot.
Doesn't work with eTrex Vista HCx November 21, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Would probably work great, but just a word of warning that it will not work with a eTrex Vista HCx, even though it appears to be the proper shape. I found out the hard way.
Compatible with extrex vista HCx October 20, 2007 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this for use with my new Etrex Vista HCx. The battery cover that comes with the mount does not fit onto the Vista HCx, due to the micro SD card slot, which gets in the way. You need to use the small plastic piece that comes with the gps unit (screws on the back) in order to snap it onto the handlebar mount. I tried to use the replacement battery cover that comes with mount at first, and almost sent this back until I realized my mistake.
Great result, bad description September 23, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Using the GPS on my MTB handlebar is really a treat. I've used the GPS in a jersey pocket, but then you need to stop occasionally to see where you are at. Having it available at all times on the handlebar is really an entirely different experience - you can just glance down, see upcoming turns, etc. Very sturdy - no problems even over rough rocky terrain.
On the down side, the back included doesn't fit GPS units with SD cards. You use your existing back and the clip that came with it to attach to the handlebar mount. I would have been better off buying just the mount without the back, but the description didn't make that obvious.
