I do a bit of travelling in my job and this little device is a lifesaver. Just punch in the address or select from a category or favorites that you've saved and off you go. If you miss a turn or want to take a detour, it recalculates how to get you back to where you need to go. I'll never go travelling without one again.

I ordered this product on the day my car was broken into and the Garmin Nuvi 350 I ordered back in December was stolen. I liked it that much.
A few minor quirks with an amazing product May 6, 2007
The Nuvi 350 is amazing in what it can do. It is quite user friendly just using the startup menu but some items require more detail as contained in the user manual. This manual has to be downloaded to a computer to be accessed and at better than 70 pages, is expensive to print. Considering the price of the unit, a printed manual should be supplied.
The unit calls for some odd turns to be taken when driving on a major straight road and in some cases, the turn called for doesn't exist. e.g. route 41 in Sarasota, Fl. It's only as good as the software supplied which is apparently not as thoroughly or frequently updated as it might be. For instance, new roads existing for a yer not shown and inaccurate restaurant info showing long defunct places.

This was my first GPS and I was pleasantly surprised at how much it helped my life as a driver.. with a lovely Australian girl's voice ("Linda") to guide me. (Right after setting this up I was talking to my girlfriend on my cell phone while the Aussie chick was guiding me in the background.. "You're not alone! Who is that?" She remains jealous of Linda, my "other girlfriend.") But the whole GPS thing to find an unfamiliar location is just fantastic, the greatest benefit to mankind ever bestowed by the United States Department of Defense. This unit is very good - nice clear menus - but not perfect. For starters, it is packed with gismos I will never use - MP3 player, pictures. Buy the cheaper Nuvi without this dreck. Second, the maps are not perfect. In rural New England, some roads are not in the database. Third, the path which Linda takes me on is sometimes not well chosen - she prefers the straightest path, which sometimes uses secondary roads when an Interstate is nearby - and I have to overrule her when I know the way. Fourth, this unit is intended exclusively for in-car use and cannot easily be used handheld as a backcountry GPS. It's not waterproof, and loading topo maps is cumbersome. (I bought the topo maps and managed to do it, but it's cumbersome.) If you have an outdoor life in addition to your car driving life, you're going to have to buy a second unit for ski trails and the like. Why? There are dual-use units out there, which would save money. Finally, these units are a favorite of thieves in some big city parking lots - so it would be good to design it for quicker detachment while parked.
