3 out of 5 stars Confusing info   September 13, 2007
Used it in LA, I'm from Id. Did get very confusing @ times.. told me to merge to the far left of a 5 lane freeway, then told me to exit on the right @ the next exit! Barely made my exit..Another time it guided me to meet friends for Dinner in Burbank fr my motel..on 101, when I learned from my friend, had I taken 118...I would've got faster & it wouldve been easier, as the restaurant was right off of 118. Also everytime I turn it on it goes to Hotsprings Montana as my current address..customer service was not helpful, just said they will do that, nothing he can do about it.. But for driving other than large cities, it is handy.

1 out of 5 stars hardware and software failure   September 6, 2007

1) tip of the 12V power plug is broken when I open the box. Why quality control did not catch it before ship it out?
2) the GPS software freezed up twice during my 3 hours long trip. Each freeze requires multiple hard resets to clear. each hard reset take 3-5 min to complete. I don't think the risk and I took and my time wasted with HGPS35 worth the money I saved.

Works very nicely. Recalculates your route fast if you make a wrong turn etc. I disagree sometimes with the route it takes, but all GPS systems have that fault I am told. I live in a city where there is no grid system at all (Pittsburgh, PA) so this comes in very handy. It could be a bit louder to hear over the stereo, but at $140 I'm not complaining too much.

So far I am very pleased with the operation of the Nextar HGPS35 3.5 inch navigation system. We took a 400 mile trip and it guided us directly to our destination. It called out all the turns and streets, etc. and made the trip very enjoyable. Looking forward to years of guidance from this gps system.

4 out of 5 stars Now if I can only find my car!   September 3, 2007

This is is the 1st gps I've ever used. It's fairly simple to use and gives accurate instructions(so far, I've only used it a few times)

It's easy to see during dalight hoursand better at night.
The voice is clear and legible. The volume however,is a little short and it makes it difficult to hear in a rainstorm.

Overall I think it's agreat value at $139.99.
