Garmin nuvi 260 April 22, 2008 If you are toying with the idea to buy a GPS, this is a wonderful gadget. It is so simple to use right out of the box. I haven't taken a long trip with it yet, but plan to soon. After using it around town, I am completely confident that I will not get lost when traveling!
One of the nicest things about the Nuvi 260 is the 'Points of Interest'. You can easily find shops, restaurants, lodging along with many other services for any city or town you are traveling to.
This gadget is well worth the money... I only wish I had this thing years ago. : )
Great Little GPS April 21, 2008 I wanted an easy to use GPS for my somewhat technically challenged wife. I knew that she wouldn't want/use many of the other features found in more expensive units so the 260 fit the bill and worked great right out of the box. I've used it several times for business trips and it's worked great.
Can't go wrong with this unit or the price.
This is a must have April 21, 2008 Excellent product. Don't underestimate the value of spoken street names. That feature is well worth the additional cost over the nuvi200. I used the 200 and found myself looking at the screen instead of the road far too often. This version speaks exit and street names so you don't have to look to make sure you take the correct route.
Great GPS at a Great Price! April 21, 2008 Great price for a good, easy to use GPS unit. No frills, but I bought it for the directions, and did not want any extras.
Great but........................ April 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Nuvi 260 is my second GPS, the reason is that after using one that does not have text to speech, I purchased the NUVI and the fact that the Nuvi 260 does have TTP, it is much safer to use. Actually, you can get from point A to point B without ever looking at the GPS screen. My only problem with my NUVI 260 is that the maps are outdated by several years leaving many places here in Florida that are not yet in its memory. It is easily used right out of the box, the TTP is excellent (if you miss a turn don't blame the GPS, each turn is announced three times!)as are the graphics.
