5 out of 5 stars This thing is GREAT!!   April 11, 2008
The Garmin 260 is great! I highly recommend this for anyone looking for an inexpensive, yet reliable GPS sytem. Its so easy to use, the screen is bright and clear, and the speaking of the street names is a huge help. I see this product for 30-40% more than I bought it for on Amazon. It's great!!

5 out of 5 stars Garmin Nuvi 260 is a great GPS   April 11, 2008
I can't say enough good things about this product. I have used it several times and it hasn't steered me wrong yet. I did a lot of research before buying the Nuvi 260 by reading numerous product reviews and speaking directly to a Garmin representative who was so very helpful because I was comparing four other models. She told me the 260 was the same as the 350 without bluetooth, mp3 player and a couple of other bells and whistles I don't need. The 260 is very easy to operate and although there is not a operating manual per se, the touch screen is pretty self-explanatory. I am electronically challenged sometimes, but I haven't had any problems with this one.

After my brother used mine, he immediately ordered one from Amazon.com just before he left for a trip from Tennessee to Miami, FL and he just loved it. The thing I like most is that the street names are pronounced for you instead of just saying "turn right in 500 ft." It says "in 500 feet, turn right on Walnut St." I hardly ever have to look at the GPS, just listen for directions.

The one and only complaint I have is that it doesn't come boxed with a home charger, but they are very cheap to purchase and so far I haven't felt the need to get one since it operates so well with the adapter for your vehicle.

Another thing I like about it is, for instance if I wanted to drive a state highway instead of the recommended interstate route, it will recalculate and direct you on the state highway. I just love this Garmin unit and if something happens to it, I will get another 260.

4 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!   April 10, 2008
This device has definitely saved me a lot of grief and gray hair! I am what you call "directionally dysfunctional" driver. I rented a car in Arizona recently and also rented a garmin navigational system. What an amazing difference in my trip. I am usually so uptight driving in a new area and ALWAYS get lost at almost every turn. With the system I was able to get around town with great ease. The only complaint I have for the system is that the newer addresses for homes, businesses and highways do not appear (some are almost 2 years old and are still not in the system). That said, it is so easy to use. Just play around with it for about 10-15 minutes and you will learn all of the features it has to offer. CHANGED MY LIFE!

5 out of 5 stars Great GPS for the money   April 9, 2008
I got mine about 6 weeks ago. It was much smaller than I expected which was a plus for me. I have used it several times already and it has got me where I needed to go. It sure beats flipping thru pages of map quest while trying to drive at the same time.

5 out of 5 stars Very pleased!   April 9, 2008
I needed a GPS for the traveling I do. I did a very extensive research, reading reviews, matching prices and finally decided to get the 260. It is a very good system, I have not had any problems with the unit yet. If you are looking for a good GPS this is the one I recommend you purchase, it's worth the money.
