I bought this Dash Mount to use with my Garmin C330 GPS for our trip to California. We drove from LAX to San Diego, back up to San Francisco, San Jose and back to LAX. It never slipped or fell even while driving on very steep hills in San Francisco. It works great not only in rental car, but I use it in my own car as well since it can be easily removed

I bought this after playing with my son's Garmin and realizing that when I got my Garmin, it would be such a hassle to try to stick and unstick the silly gizmo to my Mini windshield each time I used it. This sits nicely on the dash and when I park, just slip it under the seat and no one is the wiser. No fuss no muss for me. Even on rough roads it moved ever so slightly. The best part is that my son has been the trend setter for electronic stuff and this time, Mom was the one to find something he didn't have:)

the lock switch does not secure the suction cup to the dash.

After trying various ways to mount my Garmin C320 in my car including supplied suction cup, this garmin dash mount has worked best in both my cars. It stays at one place at various speed.
(No more falling off the windshield like suction cup in extreme heat)
Good investment that protects GPS unit.

We bought this dash mount as hubby has to go to CA on business trips & CA law does not allow anything mounted on the windshield. It's not that heavy, but it does hold firmly on the dashboard. We really like its portability and that it doesn't take a lot of room to pack. Also comes with the lighter charger which is great! Of course, since it's not permanent, it's been known to move around the dash whenever we do sharp turns. I think this is a great gadget! If only they have the same thing for the newer models. The new bluetooth-enabled GPS have ball mounts instead of bracket designs that the C340 has, and I'm not too keen on having my GPS bob up & down on bumps and dips like another reviewer said.
