5 out of 5 stars Cool Product !!!   January 12, 2007

I originally tried to find the simplest GPS for my mother so after reading an array of reviews, it was a consensus that the Nuvi 350 would best suit my mother and her shortage of technological know-how. When I received it, I did not even have to look at the manual since the setup was easy beyond imagination. After a quick tutorial, my mother even knew how to use it. I am still shocked at that mere fact. But anyways, the product is fantastic. The best feature is that it recalculate directions if you missed a turn, etc. really fast. You will pretty much never get lost with this. It is also nice and very small (read: cute, for all the ladies out there). ZERO REGRETS with this purchase. Also, the battery will last about 3 hours, and the sound is not as high as I would like it to be, but thats just me being picky.

I wanted the Nuvi 350 ever since a co-worker showed me his. I gave my Garmin 2610, which I loved, to my son so I could justify getting the Nuvi. Since seeing mine my daughter bought one for her fiancee. So the whole family loves it.

The product pays for itself when you visit new places and when you are lost.
It makes driving more automated. It is good and bad. But i would say it is for the good. Our life style has changed over these years and many of our day today gadgets/appliances have gone through so many changes/upgrades. I think this is now the time for the cars. It is really helpful. Not to worry about 'I forgot to bring the Mapquest printouts'. Also it allows to search places by name e.g. Applebees, Sears and Walmart. And the biggest plus point is its portability. You can carry with you in your pocket when you are walking down in the streets of New York or else where. Also, has some cool features like Mp3 Player and the socket for Secure Digital Storage card.

5 out of 5 stars You won't get lost   January 12, 2007
The Garmin Nüvi 350 is a slick piece of technology. You actually have to use it for a while before you can appreciate the polish this device has. I'm particularly pleased with the way the mp3 and Audible players are integrated into the unit. When you're listening to an mp3 and Nüvi needs to give you verbal directions it stops the music, gives the directions, then picks up the music where it left off. However, if you're listening to a podcast or an Audible story, it stops the story, gives the verbal directions, then backs up the story just enough to remind you where you left off and continues. It does a great job at keeping you from getting lost, of course. It's not perfect, but usually the mistakes are mistakes in the maps. I won't leave the house without it if I have to drive over ten miles.

5 out of 5 stars A real winner   January 12, 2007
I'm still getting used to Miss Nuvi and like it very much. As with all new gadgets, you have to learn how to use it. Some of the things I have not figured out yet include a simple way to update the maps, entering the proper city designation in a large metropolitan area and keeping the suction cup on the windshield without cement.
