SIMPLY FANTASTIC January 11, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I HAVE BEEN USING THE STREETPILOT 7200 FOR OVER A MONTH NOW AND COULD NOT BE HAPPIER.THE ONLY THING I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM CHANGE IS THE AC POWER CORD, IT'S ATTACHED TO THE UNIT. HOWEVEER IT'S NO BIG DEAL. IT DOES EVERYTHING THEY SAID IT WOULD AND EVEN MORE THAN I EXPECTED.ONCE YOU'VE USED THIS , YOU'LL NEVER LEAVE HOME WITHOUT IT. THE GREATEST THING SINCE SLICED BREAD. THE SCREEN IS LARGE AND EASY TO READ AND USE. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT A GPS. THIS ONE IS A NO BREAINER.
Price Wrong January 9, 2008 1 out of 9 found this review helpful
Why does Amazon show this with a list price of $1599? The manufacturer's suggested retail is $1,071.41.
Great Unit and good price. December 28, 2007 We purchased the Garman Street Pilot 7200 for use in our Motor Home. It's 7" screen is perfect. This unit performs exceptionally and has a lot of features. The price through Amazon was very competitive.
Nice but Mounting Options Are Limited December 3, 2007 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Just like the previous StreetPilot models I've owned, this one is exceptional. Its severely lacking in 1 place the others didn't though and that's with the mount.
I purchased a third-party dash mount similar to the old beanbag mount they included with the smaller units, but this mounting is a real disappointment for a unit that costs so much. I have always hard-wired my GPS in to the truck and then had a second power cord when I needed to use the GPS in another vehicle. The power on this unit is attached to the mount which means that you can't take the GPS without taking the mount and therefore also taking the power cord with you. The only solution I can think of it to purchase a 2nd mount with attached power cord but then I will always have that tacky mount on my dash even when the GPS isn't with me. Ugh!
Garmin - you had it so right with the smaller units... how did you mess this up so much on the more expensive units??
Otherwise... I don't like the fact that you have to press BACK sometimes 4 - 6 times just to get back to the main menu.
Even with these gripes its 100 times better than the closest competitor, in my opinion.
Great gift for Electronics-Gadget Guy November 24, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this for my father-in-law who just turned 70. He's a tinkerer and inventor and needed the bigger screen to see it better. He loves it and has become a fan of Garmin. This is the same size screen that is in a Lexus and Camry navigation cars.
