 Won't Work with TomTom One 3rd Edition July 10, 2008

I don't know how well this item works. However, Amazon.com put this in as a recommended purchase when I purchased my TomTom One Third Edition. However, after receiving the GPS and the antenna, I found out you can't use an external antenna with a TomTom One Third Edition.
I can't give it a perfect mark because I know nothing about it. I gave it a three star because Amazon.com shouldn't be referring it as a recommended buy

i own a full sized chevy silverado and had plenty of dashboard space. i didn't want the unit on top of the dash or suction cupped to the window. so i mounted it in my dashboard and it looks great it's out of direct sunlight, the thieves cant see it so the only problem was reception. it was solved by adding the external antenna, my gps gets more satellites than my tv does and in any weather or location.

I bought the product due to poor reception through the window. It didn't really help and I solved the problem by moving the TomTom from the middle of the front window to the side where the reception was stronger.

Greatly enhances the operation of the Tom Tom.
I use the Tom Tom inside a van and it allows me to get reliable reception with out being in the front seat.

I use the TT external antenna in my Class A Motorhome. The roof overhang is such that the internal antenna sometimes lost the signal. Since using the external antenna, I have had no signal loss problems at all. I highly recommend it for any application where line of sight to the sats is a problem.
