4 out of 5 stars Excellent once it finally finds a satellite   October 22, 2008
The Garmin 660 is an excellent GPS, but it can take several MINUTES to lock onto satellites, especially if you are already in motion. It is better to wait for connection before setting out if you have time.
Inside New York City, it is somewhat less helpful because going crosstown it is late on every turn because satellite communication is obstructed. On the uptown-downtown avenues it does fairly well.
It communicates well with my Palm Treo as a wireless speakerphone via bluetooth, but sometimes the Treo can lock up if it is also checking for Email. The street pronunciations can sometimes be quite odd, such as "FDR Doctor" instead of "FDR Drive."

4 out of 5 stars Gets the job done!   October 21, 2008
Well..I have nothing to compare this against because this is the only GPS I ever used. Anyways, I am satisfied with this one. It gets the job done. Easy to understand directions and very clear turn by turn instructions. However, I feel like sometimes it can pick better routes. Other than that its a good product. I like it.

5 out of 5 stars Great GPS   October 21, 2008
I ordered the 660 and actually received the 680 but there is basically no difference besides the 680 cost a little more. Bright screen, great volume, easy to use, and accurate. I bought my girlfriend the 360 and its a nice unit as well but the screen isnt as bright. Both are good units. Its worked well in the area's I traveled and especially like the food/shopping feature locater.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic GPS - nuvi   October 21, 2008
The Garmin nuvi 660 4.3 Inch Widescreen Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator was very easy to set-up and learn how to use. I was very surprized by the detail, and the size of the road & road signs on this unit. It recalculates very quickly when you detour, and always kept us on track.
My only con is that the vehicle powercord which comes with it, has to hooked up to the dashboard mount. I didn't want to do this, so I was able to purchase a vehicle powercord that uses the cigarette lighter. Much easier for me! I would recommend this GPS system!!

5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT   October 20, 2008

GOT MY GARMIN 660 ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND I LOVE IT. I DID ALOT OF RESEARCH ON THE GARMIN PRIOR AND THE 660 WAS FOR ME. THE BLUETOOTH WORKS GREAT AND FINDS MY PHONE AUTOMATICALLY WHEN I GET IN THE CAR. NO PROBLEM WITH DIRECTIONS. THE TRAFFIC ALERT WORKS GREAT TO ADVISE ME OF SLOW TRAFFIC OR AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS FREE FOR I THINK 3 MONTHS AND THEN THERE IS A CHARGE. I WILL PAY THE MINIMAL FEE TO KNOW WHATS AHEAD. THE GARMIN 660 IS EASY TO USE AND I PUT THE FLASH CARD IN IT WHICH HAS MY PICTURES THAT COMES UP ON THE SCREEN. I CAN NOT ACCESS THE PHONE BOOK WHICH WOULD BE NICE AND I WOULD LIKE TO DO BUT IT SAYS IT MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE. IM NOT SURE WHY THEY WOULD LIST IT IF YOU CAN'T USE IT BUT I DO HAVE SOME MORE READING TO DO. MY SISTER GOT THE 880 AT THE SAME TIME AND HER PHONE DOESNT WORK WITH IT AND THE VOICE RECOGNITION WILL NOT WORK EITHER. I TOLD HER TO REPLACE THE BATTERY SO WE WILL SEE. A FEW BUTTONS ON THE 880 SCREEN ARE VERY SMALL AND SHE ACTUALLY LIKES MY 660 BETTER. THE ON/OFF BUTTON OPERATES WITH JUST PRESSING IT AND THE 880 YOU HAVE TO HOLD DOWN THE BUTTON AND SLIDE IT OVER AND IT SOMETIMES DOESNT WORK ON THE FIRST TRY. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE GARMIN 660 AND WOULD DEFINATLY SUGGEST GETTING ONE.
