3 out of 5 stars Alot of steps then it doesn't get you where you want to go!   October 15, 2008

Even though the 4.3 in screen is larger than the 3.5, it really doesn't seem any larger. It took me an hour and half to get to a location 20 minutes away because the GPS insisted on directing me back towards home! I'm back with Magellan and much happier.

3 out of 5 stars TomTom review OneXL   October 15, 2008
I do enjoy the product The price was excellent but I wish it had bluetooth technology. I assumed it would and was very unhappy to discover it did not. The Tom Tom phone staff were very professional!

I like it a lot. The only complaint I have is it doesn't tell you if your destination is on the right or left when you arrive.

4 out of 5 stars A Man's got to know his GPS's limitations   October 12, 2008

Pros: This unit acquires and keeps satellite signals. Its display is clear in bright sunlight. The built in voice is clear and audible with with music on and windows up. The night map colors & brightness are easy on the eyes.

Cons: It has given erroneous directions multiple times. It figures out decent routes. The problem occurs in implementation. It will tell you to bear left when the exit is on the right on a Interstate junction. On U.S.24 (Telegraph Rd.)it will tell you to turn right when you need to perform an median turnaround. In both cases the directions it suggested were the way you eventually wanted to get, however it doesn't take into account what you need to stay on pavement and keep it legal.

Backround: I have "Microsoft Streets and trips 2006" for my laptop.
It is much more accurate in implementation of performing routes. Ive used it much longer and its only made one mistake that I remember. However you practically need another person to operate it. It isn't nearly as easy to use while driving.

Suggestion: for $150 I think it was worth it. I would not have been happy to pay more.

Well satified and pleased with the Tom Tom GPS so far. I have only had the chance to use it one time so far and it performed perfectly. Good price - good product.
