Garmin April 5, 2008 By far the easiest GPS receiver to use. Simple inputs get you to your destination fast. Finds restaurants, gas, hotels, etc., quickly and accurately. Not fancy for sure, but for fast input, reliable directions, you can't beat it.
The most practical thing I ever bought. April 4, 2008 Got this as a Christmas gift for my husband...then I took it!! It is great. Just punch in the address and it takes you right to the door. When my husband goes away on a trip and rents a car, he takes it (when I'm not looking) and plugs it into the lighter doohickie of the car and he never gets lost no matter where he goes in the States. I have had this for a few years now and it still works great and has been used a lot. Come on ladies..get one "for your husband."
Navigation system April 3, 2008 Excellent item, I can go everywhere with it, the item is refurbished but first quality ! I'm very happy with it, it's dummy proof everyone should have one, I'll never get lost again.
Best car accessory ever March 31, 2008 This is an excellent item to have. Before I bought one, I didn't really believe a GPS would be as awesome as it is. Driving in strange cities is no longer intimidating because now you know where you're going, or at least the device does. And if you miss a turn, it just recalculates and gets you back on track. It's not perfect and the maps are sometimes off a little, but 99% of the time it was fine and worked perfectly. This is one of the few convenience items I would say is definitely worth the expense and everyone should have.
Easy-to-use and clear graphics March 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought this unit to replace one that was stolen from my husband's truck. I think the fact that we chose to replace the stolen one with the same make and model speaks to how well we like this product.
Pros:
*Bright, clear screen
*Good sound, variety of spoken languages (the kids love to hear the British woman).
*Zoom in and out, adjustable points of view.
*Easy to download updates at web site.
*When searching for addresses, the unit is quick to pop up with potential cities/streets.
*Very helpful finding restaurants, gas stations, etc.
Cons:
*It's big and chunky compared to other brands.
*Canceling/changing your destination is not an intuitive process. I understand TomTom users have the same problem.
We like the Garmin so much, we've purchased a second one!
