5 out of 5 stars Garmin 370 in Italy   June 15, 2008

Great product to use in Europe. I drove from Florence to Venice and back. It took me right to my reserved parking area. From Florence to Pisa and back with a side trip to Lucca. No problems. Florence to Rome one way straight to my hotel which was hard to find even by the local taxis as we were sort of on the outskirts. Then finally from my hotel in Rome to the international airport. Again no problems. I even got it to locate the flight we were on once. At 700 MPH plus I had a problem having it log on more than once though.

If I could add an option it would be to add a view current location. It always wants you to go somewhere. It has the option but it seems to stick to the last location you went to.

If you are using this unit to travel with I recommend you pre-save the locations that are important to you saving time when you are ready to start.

Careful driving in Italy though. Italians are born to drive gran prix style. In autos, Vespas and bicycles. Definitely an experience.

5 out of 5 stars A great choice   June 13, 2008
We have not had a GPS before so were a little nervous. We were headed to Europe where we have often gotten lost. However the Nuvi performed admirably almost every time, announcing each turnoff as it approached. We are very happy with our choice.

5 out of 5 stars Garmin nuvi 370   June 9, 2008
The Garmin nuvi 370 was worth every penny. I was in the market for a GPS unit that could deliver great direction, ease of use, and a variety of options. The Garmin nuvi 370 did all that and more. I needed something that had both the U.S. and Europe maps preloaded. My wife and I just returned from Ireland where we took the 370. It worked wonderfully. Not only were we able to navigate the back roads with ease, it was also very handy for finding restaurants and other tourist attractions that we had trouble locating. I highly recommend the Garmin nuvi 370 for anyone traveling overseas and the U.S.

4 out of 5 stars Darn Good   June 9, 2008
I have used a couple of GPS units over the past few years and decided to purchase a portable one for an upcoming trip to Europe. I have had good experiences with Garmin so the x70 was the way to go. So far I have only used it in the US and it has performed as expected- very well. It froze a few times (a minor hick-up on the highway but a pain when in town). It has also sometimes given questionable ETAs, but I think this may be due to how I have inserted 'way' points. The thing is so easy to use that I never read the instruction manual. On a recent trip to Wy it directed me to a road that was no longer in use, so it important to remember that this (as are all GPS units) is a navigation aid...good driving requires good situational awareness). I am excited to have it in Europe while I wonder around. This is also when I will try some of its real-time features.

Overall this is a great product. Prices on GPS units are dropping all the time so shop wisely. The 670 can now be had for just about what I paid for the 370.
