4 out of 5 stars Mio C220 GPS   December 31, 2007
This product is everything the ad says it is and more. For the money you can not beat it anywhere.

5 out of 5 stars Great and accurate GPS navigation system for the price   December 28, 2007

I have owned Mio C220 for more than a month. I have no major complains on this device so far. It is very easy to use and the route calculation was faster than Garmin or TomTom according to my observations. The C220 was able to recalculate the route when you miss the original planned route, this feature is a major plus point. The LCD touch screen is fast and responsive and I like the QWERTY keyboard format to input address while the Garmin has ABCD telephone format which is difficult to input. You can drag or move the 2D map using your fingers easiely. The device is light weight and it can fit in most of the pockets. The LCD screen bright enough for mounting on the windscreen/dashboard for navigation. I found the navigation was very accurate and dead on. It comes with a car charger but no home or wall charger. I have been using my Motorola RAZR wall charger to charge my C220 at home and it works. My only complain is that not too many accessories are available for C220 and lack of full support to its update software for Macs. Otherwise C220 scores much higher than TomTom.

5 out of 5 stars It knows the roads the locals know...   December 28, 2007
We bought the system in Summer, had it for 6 months now and used it everywhere. We used it to find train stations in NJ, Used it to find points of interest in New York City (pedestrian mode), We gave it to guests to find their hotel (beats giving directions), used it all over Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, system is solid, maps are accurate. It reroutes quickly if you miss a turn/detour. If you have a RAZR or blackberry or any other USB powered device you can charge the MIO with the same charger. Best of all its cheap! Downfalls: volume could be louder, it doesn't say street name when turning, but does show it on the screen.

4 out of 5 stars Accurate GPS   December 27, 2007
This Mio is very simple to use and great for navigating unfamiliar areas. It is very accurate and the maps are extremely reliable. The voice commands are also very accurate and helpful in the city. Sometimes it takes a few minutes to acquire a satellite signal but once it does your on your way. Batter life could be better but is nothing really to complain about.

5 out of 5 stars Some Reviews make me Wonder..   December 22, 2007

I bought the the Mio C220 for $95.00 and was looking for a simple GPS device that was quick and efficient. Before I bought it I looked around at reviews like I always do. From website reviews like CNet to customer reviews. I am always amazed more by the customer reviews. You can see everything in those. From buyers remorse to company schills and people who bought a much more expensive item, only to find out later that there was a product that did essentially the same thing for a whole lot less. Especially when it comes to a product that has a great price and does what it is supposed to do.
No product is ever perfect, at least not for everyone. And the criticisms are often funnier than Comedy Central or a good episode of South Park. Like the ones I have seen for this one. "It doesn't have an MP3 player and doesn't play video", "The screen is useless in bright sunlight", "It doesn't have text to speech", "It doesn't include maps of Alpha Centauri". "It crashed on me". and on and on.
The bottom line is, Why would I want an MP3 player and video capability in a GPS unit??, The screen works just fine in any light condition, I could care less about text to speech, And a map of the entire U.S. is all I really need. In fact I will most like rarely need a map outside the state I live in. And the unit has never crashed on me yet, and even if it did, so what? It does just what a GPS should do. It directs me quickly and easily to my destination. And I never have any trouble hearing the directions that come out of the unit. Maybe try turning down the stereo and getting that cancer causing cellphone out of your ear when you need directions. Just my opinion.. A great unit for the price. And you can take the savings to the bank.
