5 out of 5 stars Wow!   August 27, 2007

This GPS system is amazing. I've had it for a few weeks now and continue to be impressed. It locks on to satellites in no time at all. I've actually had it lock on to 9 satellite from within my family room where I have two windows and two skylites. Anyhow. I've tried it around town here in eastern PA. I'd say about 90 percent of the time it takes me places using the exact route I'd use. I live in an area with lots of new construction and haven't had a problem finding a road yet. I recently got caught in a backup on I78 (a major artery in our area) and punched in Detour and it took me exactly where I expected to go. I've used it to find addresses in Philadelphia with no problem. I recently used it to get me to Great Adventure in Jackson NJ and it guided me right into the parking lot.

Although some other GPS units have more bells and whistles, this baby is the most bang for the buck you'll get. The voice prompts work just the way they should, and the screen data gives you some really great info. like how far to the next turn (really helpful on long highway trips) and how much time till you arrive at your destination. I haven't really used the points of interest very extensively but the few I've looked for have been there and apppear to be up to date.

As for ergonomics, the mounting bracket is excellent. This baby will not come off of your windshield unless you want it to. The touch screen works great. It includes a stylus tucked neatly in the back of the unit but I just use my finger with no problem. So far the battery has been great, holding a charge for at least 3 hours. Oh yeah, I can't comment on the mp3 player because I haven't used it - yeah, I still use CD's.

The only criticisms I'd have are the instruction book is pretty basic but adequate, and I'd like a little larger screen. By this, I mean in both directions, not just wider like a lot of the new units coming out. In my wife's minivan, when mounted on the windsheild, the unit is kind of far away and it's hard to read some of the stuff on the screen. Although, I guess if it was much bigger it would block too much of your view through the windshield.

4 out of 5 stars GREAT FOR THE PRICE 159.00   August 27, 2007
SO FAR SO GOOD THIS IS A GOOD GPS FOR THE PRICE. PAID 159.00 AT AMAZON DIRECTIONS ARE LOUD AND THE SCREEN RESOLUTION IS GREAT.

We have been wanting a GPS for some time now but were waiting on the prices to drop. I got this one on sale. I paid in the $150 range.
It is super easy to use, never even had to use the instructions books. Turned it on and it found me sitting in my living room, saying I was off road. It has found every address I have thrown at it including a family member who lives on a dirt road out near a lake in the bayous of Louisiana! Just amazing.
So many features on this thing, way too many to try to mention.
Love the Points of interest, and how wonderful that they include all hospitals! Should you be in a strange town and need a hospital just hit a button and there they are. This is great for me because I have health issues.
We wanted to try a new bbq place around us but did not know of one I just used the points of interest and let it guide me to one near me.
The mounting bracket works great in both of our vehicles, it did take a little work to get it set just the way we wanted it but once set it stays put.
Do shop around because the price on this unit is really dropping, great deals on it out there.
I highly recommend this GPS unit and for the price it is a steal. A true no brainer! Just do it!

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE THIS THING!!   August 26, 2007

For $160 you can't beat this deal. I love everything about this navigation system. You don't have to worry about charging it at home because it has a built in charger so you can take it on the road with you. I love the fact that if you make the wrong turn it recalculates your destination. It will tell you what street you need to get back on. Even if you miss an exit on the freeway (which I did once), if will also tell you how to get back on so you can get back to where you need to be.....awesome!! I also love how it has a suction cup you can put on your windshield. It's soo easy to put on and its adjustable. I was nervous to get this because of the size but I love it and it's big enough for me. The only one thing I don't like is when you go to POI it doesn't list some things you need. This is my first navigation system so I don't know if different systems have different information but I just wished it listed more stuff. It has restaraunts but not places like Jamba Juice or Walmart. Maybe that's just cause I'm not lookin it up right. I thought there would be an option to just list all places in one city but you have to look it up by category. It's not a huge thing at all. I have the address before I leave my house most of the time. I should call their customer service and ask them.....anyways blah blah sorry I'm just blabbing......THIS IS A WONDERFUL PRODUCT.....BUY IT NOW!!

5 out of 5 stars Better than the navigation in my Escalade   August 25, 2007

I was first introduced to the concept of navigation when I leased my 2005 Cadilac Escalade. Like many modern conveiniences I soon became to feel naked without it. We ended up getting rid of the Escalade and I really missed my navigation. I have been looking for a long time for an affordable, easy to operate, dependable , touchscreen navigation system.

I read many reviews of different products and this had all the features I wanted! The price was much much lower than what I had seen before. So I took the plunge and purchase it.

This unit is BETTER than the navigation system I had in my 2005 Cadilac Escalade. First of all it has a remote (something I never even thought of but a cool accessory) and secondly it is portable. It has LOTS of other information about what resraunts/shopping/hospitals ect are within 25 miles of any location. It also tells you what side of the street your "destination" is on. It comes with mounts, wall charger, car adaptor easy to read and understand manuals (although I will gladly admit that I used this right out of the box to go to a rehearsal dinner and THEN read the directions).

I am so so happy with my purchase. I am not a person to hand out 5 stars usually but I love everything about it!
